This oneshot is based in season 2,

I read so many people talk about how it was surprising Rona never suffered any side effects despite being struck in the head so brutally.

So here's my version of her comeback

It's pretty angsty

*****************************************************************************************

Rona gazed outside the hospital windows as she sat in her bed. It was raining pretty heavily.

"Why do I strangely feel sad?"

The door slid open and Suryeon walked in, a frantic look in her eyes.

"Rona-ya!" Her eyes tearing up, she rushed by Rona's side and caressed her face.

"Good job, Rona-ya. Thank you for waking up."

As tears rolled down her cheeks, Suryeon wrapped Rona into a warm embrace.

"I'm so proud of you."

Letting go of her small body, Suryeon sat down on the stool beside Rona and wiped her tears.

"Ajhumma...why are you crying?" Rona spoke in a low voice, a strange emptiness in her eyes.

"I'm just so relieved that you woke up. I was so scared."

Tilting her head, Rona furrowed her eyebrows. "Do you...know me?"

Silence.

Suryeon's smile disappeared as she looking at Rona who no longer had the spark in her eyes.

"What's wrong, Rona-ya? Why are you acting like this? I-it's me, Suryeon Ajhumma."

Rona simply looked on with an unfamiliar gaze.

The doctor walked in and sighed as he approached the two females.

"Doctor...is something wrong?" Suryeon moved her focus to the doctor with frantic eyes.

Letting out another heavy breath, the doctor looked at Suryeon. "Ms. Shim, I'm afraid that what we had hoped for to not happen has actually happened. Ms. Bae has lost all her memories of the past five years because of the impact of the wound and the multiple surgeries."

Suryeon looked on in confusion, tears flowing down her face in a faster rate.

"That can't be possible...Rona...wouldn't forget me...no..."

Rona looked at the stranger in front of her who tightly held on to her hand as she conversed with the doctor. She didn't remember how she ended up in this position. There was a piercing pain in her shoulder and head. She felt weak and tired ever since she woke up. She didn't understand what was going on. She wanted to see her mother.

"So...I lost my memories of the past five years?" Rona muttered.

"Roughly, it seems like that." The doctor sat by Rona with a sad smile. "But there's a 50 percent chance you will be able to regain them." Rona and Suryeon looked at the doctor.

"Really? Would that be possible?" Suryeon frantically grabbed the doctor's hands. "How can we make that happen? Please tell me. I'll do everything."

"For starters, you should slowly take her to places with special memories or show her some items that she has an emotional connection. Maybe making her meet people she loves might help jolt back some memories."

Wiping her tears, Suryeon nodded.

"Ajhumma, where is my mom? Can you bring mom to me?"

Suryeon looked at Rona and smiled.
