SEATTLE, WA. January 21st, 1991.

Dave left for Los Angeles yesterday, arriving today and meeting with some of his old friends, despite wanting to stay in Seattle after hearing the news that Aurora finds a passion in teaching, and that it will make her life busy.

Dave wants to spend every spare moment with Aurora, because he knows as life begins to move on, they won't have a lot of moments to be together.

He'd like to think there's a solution to this problem, just like there has been to other problems in his life, but at the moment, their future is unclear.

Dave won't be getting back to Seattle until the first of February, where Nirvana will resume their tight schedule of practicing non-stop and by then, Aurora hopes to have found a college.

Suddenly, the phone rings from the lounge room, causing Aurora to stand up from the bed, and walk through the clumps of clothes and other items that scatter the bedroom floor.

"Adams and Grohl residence, Aurora speaking." Aurora says into the phone, a habit which she had caught from Dave.

"Aurora! I have a surprise, I'm coming to yours in twenty!" Jessica says quickly, hanging up quickly before Aurora could get a word in.

Aurora furrows her eyebrows and decides to have a shower and get changed. By then, Aurora hears several eager knocks from the front door, making her walk over, despite how badly she wants to know what the surprise is.

Aurora opens the door, to see Jessica, and a familiar face.

"Tommy!" Aurora says excitingly, flinging herself into the young mans body.

"Hey, Ror's." Tommy says, chuckling.

"I haven't seen you in ages! Oh my gosh, you've changed so much, you look so different!" Aurora exclaims, looking him up and down, smiling as she does so.

"I hope I haven't changed that much." Tommy states, rubbing his neck and smiling.

Tommy, Thomas, Tom.

He's an old school friend of Aurora's, and he's one of the only friends she had during the last few years at school.

Aurora hasn't seen Tommy since her last day of school, so seeing him at her door step, out of the blue like this, is certainly a wonderful surprise.

He was on of the only people there for Aurora at the time of her mother's death, and Aurora will never forget the lengths Tommy went to to assure that she were okay.

"You haven't changed a bit." Tommy states, "Still wearing those t-shirts with all those bands on it, the jeans, and leather jackets." He then adds, remembering each detail, "You always had your hair split a certain way." He then says, making Aurora smile even more than she is currently.

"Jess... How did you..." Aurora trails off, not knowing how to ask Jess how she managed to find an old school friend of hers even though she never mentioned him to her.

"Well, I was going on a date with him until you were brought into the conversation and he demanded to see you instantly." Jess explains, "I'm sorry, but I haven't seen her in years." Tommy says, feeling bad that he ruined his date, but for him, this is better than any date.

"We need to catch up Tommy." Aurora says, "Now?" Tommy asks, "Now." Aurora says, a smile on her face. LIf that's okay with you Jess?" Aurora asks her, "Oh it's alright, the date was doomed when he started talking about his pet turtle, Rodrick." Jess says, rolling her eyes, and beginning to walk down the steps.

"What's wrong with Rodrick?" Aurora and Tommy ask at the exact same time, though Jess walked off without an answer.

Aurora lets Tommy inside, where he slowly walks around the room, looking at each little detail, eventually finding himself to the photographs hanging on the wall.

"Who's this?" Tommy asks Aurora, pointing to a man in a photograph. "Oh, that's my friend, Kurt." Aurora states, walking beside him.

"Is this also your friend?" Tommy asks, pointing to a picture of Aurora and Dave. "That's... That's my uh, my boyfriend." Aurora states. "Right..." Tommy says awkwardly, shoving his hands into his pockets, "What's his name?" Tommy asks Aurora, "Dave." She says, with a smile, thinking about him for the millionth time today, wondering how he's doing.

Tommy then looks to other photographs of Aurora and dave scattered all over the wall which they had printed out recently.

"You guys look cute together." Tommy says.

"Where's Dave now?" Tommy asks out of curiosity as Aurora walks to the kitchen, "He's in Los Angeles with some old friends for next week and a bit, comes back on the 1st." Aurora explains as she fills two glasses with water.

"Sounds like fun." Tommy says as he sits down at the dining table, Aurora joining a few seconds after and giving him his glass of water.

"Why aren't you with Dave?" Tommy asks, "In Los Angeles?" He then adds. "Because I'm focusing on finding a college to apply to." Aurora reveals, "What are you wanting to study?" Tommy asks Aurora, wide eyed. "Teaching." Aurora states, "A music teacher more specifically." She then adds, "Wow." Tommy states, shocked.

Aurora and Tommy then catch up on everything that has happened to the them in the past few years, Tommy scoring a job in journalism as he always dreamt of, and having an apartment in the city.

As the clock slowly ticks later and later into the night, the two grow tired.

"You're welcome to stay the night, just as we used to when we were kids." Aurora states, "Head to toe?" Tommy asks, "Sounds good." Aurora says with a smile.

So they both retreat to the bedroom, Aurora feeling embarrassed, apologising for the mess on the floor until eventually Tommy climbs in next to her.

Aurora can't help but feel a bit uneasy at the fact that another man is sleeping in her and Dave's bed, even though Tommy is an old friend, something doesn't feel right.
