I had no idea what to do about this, so I'm sorry if it's bad.
Winter stared as Webs droned on about boring Tribe history. His eyes kept darting toward Moon, who was looking at Webs like he had sprouted a second tail.
Perhaps she had heard something in his mind that surprised her. As he looked at her, a question lingered in his mind.
Who did she like better, him or Qibli? He thought about it for a second. It was probably Qibli. He could see why, though. Qibli was funny, smart, charming, and everything else any girl could want.
And Winter? He was just an exiled prince that no one liked. He decided he would ask her today and get done with it.
He scribbled on a piece of scratch paper, then folded it into a paper airplane. He aimed at her, and let it fly. It hit its mark and landed on Moon's desk. She turned her head toward it and frowned, picking it up.
Moon unfolded the airplane. On the paper, it read; Meet me outside the school right after class -Winter. She stared at it for a moment, then looked at Winter. He nodded. She shrugged.
Why not? It couldn't be something so bad that she shouldn't go. Her eyes suddenly widened, and she glanced at Qibli, who was looking at Winter with a weird look.
Moon narrowed her eyes at him, and titled her head a bit, like she was figuring out something. But he was wearing his skyfire, wasn't he? She couldn't be reading his mind. Winter brushed away the thought and focused on Webs, who was talking about IceWings.
Moon looked at him, but he didn't look back. Her eyes were clouded with worry.
But he didn't notice.
After class:
Winter waited outside the school, until Moon came outside. She waved at Winter. She said, "Hello.".
Winter flashed a rare smile.
"Hi." He answered. Moon sat down, and he did too. "So," She said, "What did you ask me to come out here for?". Winter bit his lip. For a moment, he didn't want to ask. But he did.
"Who do you love more?" He blurted.
"Me or Qibli?".
Moon was silent. It wasn't hard to see the worry in her eyes. She looked as though she could burst into tears right then, but she didn't.
She opened her mouth, then closed it.
Winter felt the slightest bit guilty. He shouldn't have asked. "If its Qibli, I won't be angry." He claimed, though deep down, he knew he would be. Moon echoed his thoughts.
"You will. I know you, Winter." She said, a sad smile on her snout.
She took a deep breath, like she was preparing to dive into ice-cold water. "I don't know." She admitted.
Still, Winter knew there was an answer, but she wasn't going to tell him. Moon was talking again. "I love you both equally." She said. Winter didn't entirely belive that.
But what she did next convinced him she did love him, even if she loved Qibli or not.
Moon kissed him. It was short, but passionate. Winter could tell she meant it. She pulled back, and smiled.
"I do love you, Winter." She said.
She then walked back into the school, leaving Winter there, shocked.
