Like people always said, the one who was most likely to betray you would be the one who was closest to you. Penelope knew about this from before she even reincarnated, but the feeling of being betrayed did not subside even a little. The demigoddess knew that it was an inevitable event, and even though they did not say anything she would eventually get dragged along anyway since her luck was rotten.

The feeling of knowing someone who knew about your feeling and still pushed you to the fire was infuriating, and if they were anybody else, they would be dead before they could even say help. The raven-haired beauty was angry. She wanted to kill them real bad ever since they were still in the meeting room. Her hand had been itching to slide off her ring and just plunged her swords down their heart, but she held it on. She had been expecting this type of plot twist anyway. No use getting angry. More so when the provocateur was your own family.

Truly, what an irritating family she got.

"You better have an explanation, you fucktard." As soon as the door from the meeting room closed, Penelope seethed. She glared hard towards the one who called himself her twin brother, demanding hard for whatever excuse he was about to spout to save his life. A little dramatic, but who cared? She certainly did not.

"Listen-" He began, taking several steps back. To say that he was surprised at her reaction would be an understatement. He was scared of her. Percy did not know that his twin sister would react that badly. He thought that she would accept it eventually after grumbling a few minutes. But, he certainly did not expect this kind of anger. "I just think that it will be great for us to go together."

Penelope frowned, certainly expecting a much better excuse than what just had been spouted out, "That's your best excuse?"

"I mean, you are stronger than all of us. You even survived the labyrinth and multiple assassinations when we're back home, no?" Percy commented. Penelope saw the look of hesitation cross his face for a split second. He was doubtful right now. Sure, he thought that she would provide a lot of manpower, but with her so uncooperative, surely, he would not expect her to help that easily? He continued, nonetheless, though his voice was lower and more hesitant. "I just think that with you there you can help us or whatever..."

Penelope had mentioned the fact that she did not want to go on the adventure for the prophecy. She knew that Percy would be the receiver since the book made him be. She also knew that he would choose Grover and Annabeth to go with him. So, how did the fucker suddenly think it was a good idea to put her inside the team? What made him think that it was a great plan to make a short-tempered, mentally unstable assassin do what she hated?

Penelope thought that by mentioning her dislike towards the adventure he would at least think to exempt her. But, no. The little fucker mentioned her first. He did not choose Annabeth or Grover. No. He chose her first. Imagine her surprise and confusion when she heard her name being called.

Penelope seemed to be seen as an easy target since every single person had betrayed her at least once.

Huh.

It seemed like the demigoddess was too lenient.

He really thought that it would be okay to cross her? He really thought she would go with the plan after being dragged into the mess unwillingly? He truly thought that she would help with the journey? Penelope seemed to overestimate him too much. What an idiot.

"You know what? Fine." Penelope glared but sighed before she continued, "Let's settle this the way we usually do, the von Eden style. You're an assassin, aren't you? Me too. Now, assassins only move when the price is right. So, client, what can you offer me?"
