❝ But then there was you, standing further away, brown eyes looking anywhere but at me. There always seemed to be a frown on your face and you'd have this disappointed look, but then you smiled and there were stars in your eyes ❞

JI CHANGMIN DOESN'T BELIEVE IN TRUE LOVE. It's not his fault―not entirely, and he's not going to explain that simply because one, he's straightforward. He will only say what's on his mind once he's certain, even if the truth hurts, except sometimes.

"I'm not interested in dating right now, sorry," the words escape his mouth like it's second nature. He pushes back the lavender chocolate box to the shorter girl with a frown on her face.

She looks younger, perhaps in her junior year besides the height.

Her raven hair is worn loose in a side ponytail sitting near her neck, one hand gripping the hem of her skirt, and he figures she's nervous.

"Hey, I appreciate your effort in this, but please understand―" he does. The junior got his favorite color right and even took the time to make her doodles on the card realistic.

But before he can complete his sentence, the girl beats him to it. "So, it's true. You're immune to love, or you're not interested in girls―"

She's so right, except for the other fact, which he isn't so sure of himself.

It makes him flustered, cheeks tinting a shade of red, brows raising.

He takes her by her arms, gently moving them further away from the hallway, decreasing the chance of gossip or rumors spreading over their entire high school.

"What do you want?" Changmin says, tone serious.

Yeongja suppresses a smile from blooming on her lips as her gaze travels towards the blonde resting his head on a page of an open textbook on the desk, and Changmin's gaze follows.

Then, their gazes return to each other, and Yeongja is fully smiling.

"No."

Yeongja lets out a whine, hands wrapping around Changmin's arms, giving him the puppy eyes.

"Stop."

"Please, please, please, pretty please."

"Yeongja, are you kidding me? He's only trouble! You're smart. You know what I mean," he tells her, hoping she would accept the reality and why he doesn't want to help her.

"You're smart too, so you know I've had a crush on him since our first year."

"I didn't."
