You shivered as the doctor applied the cold gel over your round belly.

After 4 months, you were super excited to finally learn the sex of your baby. It's most certainly have been an achingly long 20 weeks: from the morning sickness, swollen ankles, and changes in breasts size, to craving odd foods, like raw onions.

Yelp, being pregnant surely has already been one hell of a rollercoaster ride.

And the same goes for your boyfriend/fiance, Kazutora.

Months after finding out you were pregnant, he was a bit anxious at first.

Scared even.

But after sitting him down to talk, Kazutora eventually accepted the idea of becoming a father.

Just seeing him smile lovingly at your belly after giving it gentle caresses and sweet kisses each day always made you feel so happy. And the prospect of taking care of a child together, somehow made up for all of the pain his past has caused him.

The doctor presses a button on the keyboard before gently pressing the probe onto your belly.

"Alright, let's see what we have here?" He says.

You hold Kazutora's hand as you both glanced at the monitor in anticipation.

Both of your hands are sweaty, implying just how nervous and excited you two are. Knowing he feels the same way as you seems to ease your nerves a bit as the doctor rubs the probe firmly across your stomach as the grainy image of your baby came into view.

"There we are!" The doctor says cheerfully and comments on healthy your baby is, and everything was good.

You and Kazutora were able to make out some of the baby's attributes, like the head and arms as the doctor soon asks if you're ready to learn the gender of your child.

You nodded as your breath hitches and Kazutora squeezes your hand.

"Yes." He replied.

"Congratulations, it's a healthy baby girl!" the doctor finally announced.

You release a breath you didn't know you were holding as overwhelming joy washes over you. A broken sob escaped your lips as tears fell from your eyes.

You soon turned your head to look at Kazutora as the doctor began cleaning you up-wiping the gel off your stomach, whilst the printer goes to print out the results for you both to take home.

"We're having a little girl, Kazu." You say, tears still streaming down your face from how insanely happy you are.

Kazutora grins and kisses your forehead before excitedly exclaiming, "yeah, I can't believe it.. a precious baby girl."

Soon, the grin on his face slowly falls as he gazes downward.

"Kazu, are you okay? What's wrong?" You ask.

Was he having second thoughts?

"I'm just a little worried, is all..." He says, almost as if he's in a trance.

You put your hands on either side of his face, "Kazu, baby, look at me. Why are you worried?"

He mutters something, clearly distraught.

"What?"

"What if I'm not ready? What if I'm not a good dad?" He panics, eyes wide. "I'm afraid I want be able to give her the best life!"

You quickly shut him up with a kiss, stopping him from spewing utter nonsense, before pulling away and glared at him.

"Kazu, you're going to be a great father!"

"But-" he started, but you again, silenced him with a kiss.

"If you keep this up, I'm just going to keep kissing you until all negative thoughts are gone." You kiss his cheek.

You knew of his gloomy past filled with domestic violence and unhappiness that you understood completely as to what he was going with this.

"That was in the past and you shouldn't let that discouraged you. You've come so far Kazutora and you've changed so much. I know in my heart that you're going to be the best dad to our little girl. And I'm going to be there with you all the way!" You tell him.

"You're incredible Kazu and I love you. No matter what happens...whatever the future holds, we'll face it together as a family!"

His eyes were the size of dinner plates as he stared at you in disbelief.

"Do you really mean that, (Y/n)?"

You nodded.

"Besides, you're going to spoil the hell out of her once she's born and she's going to love you."

Kazutora chuckles at that as he slowly rubs your stomach with a certain gentleness he only shows you.

"Thank you, (Y/n). I'm so glad to have chosen you to be my wife. You always know just what to say to make me feel better." He whispers softly.

You can't help but tear up, knowing that no matter what happens, Kazutora will be sure to make his family happy.
