THE SOUND OF SHOYO CRASHING INTO THE COLD GYM FLOOR made Akino wince, watching as he yet again face-planted with the floor, a groan slipping out of his lips. She had tagged along with her brother on Saturday eager to cheer him on and watch some volleyball. There, she finally met the notorious Kageyama, who was polite to her. He simply introduced himself and thanked her for attending. She immediately liked his attitude, and couldn't comprehend what her brother had been ranting about for several days. But then they started practicing receives, and it became apparent that the first year had a totally different side to him. He was rude, standoffish and selfish when it came to playing volleyball. Talented, she could tell, but he didn't have a team mindset. But there was no doubt in her mind that her little brother could show him what being on a team really meant.

"Dammit! Stop dragging your feet! What happened to those reflexes you had? Get it together," Kageyama yelled, bunched his fists as he watched the ball roll away from Akino's pathetic lump of a brother who laid on the floor in defeat. The redheaded girl simply rolled her eyes, encompassed in the manga that she finally managed to steal back from the crazy libero. She only had two days to return it so she was currently trying to get some reading done while her kouhais practiced. But they were being far too obnoxious for her to concentrate so she ended up on the same page for a few minutes at a time.

"All I've been doing is receives," Shoyo complained, slowly picking himself up, "Kageyama we're running out of time, I wanna jump around, I wanna do some spikes!" He once again pulled energy out of no where, perhaps sheer determination.

Of the many things she loved about her little brother, the lived his ability to care so much about something that he could put his entire soul into it to will it to happen. Kageyama seemed like a great balance to that, calm and collected. He had goals and a plan, something that bode well with the naturally unprepared Shoyo.

"Well that's too bad!" He yelled back, growing frustrated at her brother. He got into the shorter boy's face, making Akino scowl, delicately marking her page before she stood up to step in. Fortunately, Tanaka had beaten her to it, seperating the boys with a loud, "that's enough!" that could rival even Daichi's yell (which at times was pretty scary). They immediately turned to the two, Kageyama growing embarrassed and Hinata still seething. Akino had hopped off the bench, trailing over to her friends' side as she addressed the two with a pointed look.

"A word of advice from your upperclassmen," she trailed, crossing her arms over her chest as she looked to Tanaka to continue. The boy huffed, puffing out his chest to make himself look more intimidating. She couldn't help but crack a smile at his behavior, knowing all he wanted was to be respected like the captain of the team, "Daichi is a nice guy most of the time, but you will not like it when he's mad. Trust me." He continued for her, giving them a look that could only be chalked up to experience. Luckily Akino had never been on the end of Daichi's anger, but she had witnessed it a few times when Tanaka and Kinoshita started pulling pranks on the other members of the team. It was not a pleasant time, and even she shivered at the thought.
