Y/n's POV
Right now, Hope and I are sitting next to each other while listening to Caroline talk. She's the new headmaster since she found a cure for the merge and is moving back.
"Given our recent influx of monsters, the Sheriff and I have decided we need to take drastic action. Please give him your full attention." Caroline says and she smiles at Matt before he walks to the mic.
"Like Mrs. Forbes-Salvatore was saying, local girls Dana Lilien and Sasha Stoteraux didn't come home last night. Dana sometimes skips town for a few days to party, but this is a first for Sasha." Matt says as pictures of the girls get passed around.
"Thank you Sheriff Donovan. Now while the knife is away with Dorian and things are quiet on his end, it won't hurt to assume the worst. If Dana and Sasha..." I tone Caroline out and Hope grabs my hand, I smile.
"Now, I'll need a few of you to volunteer to go Mystic Falls High under the guise of an exchange program meant to improve relations between our schools, which, unfortunately, is necessary, given the recent events. Now, I give you permission to compel them, to gather materials for locator spells, because any information we can get will make all the difference" Caroline says and Hope kisses me on my cheek to get my attention.
I turn to her, she smiles and shrugs. I chuckle lightly and kiss her temple before looking ahead again.
Lizzie stands up, "Oh geez." I groan in a whisper and Hope giggles.
"Well, I guess that I can set aside my differences with Dana for a day, because that is what heroes do." Lizzie says as she walks to the front, Hope rolls her eyes and I chuckle. "So... I volunteer as tribute."
"She battles one gargoyle, and suddenly she's Mother Teresa." Hope whispers to me and I kiss her cheek multiple times causing her to smile.
Kaleb stands up, "I'm in!" He says, MG is quick to follow him.
"I'm in, too." MG says and I smile at the boys.
Hope stands up and pulls me with her, "I'd like to help." Hope says.
"I'll come." I say.
Caroline makes eye contact with me and gives me a smile.
Hope, Caroline and I are in the gym now, talking. "What are you supposed to be doing?" Caroline asks and Hope sighs.
"I'm supposed to be training with Dr. Saltzman while she fan girls over me." Hope says, as she points to me at the last part and I chuckle.
Caroline smiles at me, amused. "I can train you. I'm better than Alaric, because I'm a vampire." She offers to Hope and she nods.
"Thank you!" Hope says before she speeds off to get dressed.
"I've never seen her that happy before." Caroline says and I smile.
A few minutes later and Hope runs in ready for training with her mother and aunt behind her. Hope runs up to me and hugs me, burying her face in my neck.
I smile and wrap my arms around her as the adults talk. "What's up?" I ask her and she shrugs.
"I'm happy." Hope tells me and I smile. Hope rests her head under my chin since I'm way taller than her.
"Hey Hope?" I ask and Hope looks up at me. "How tall are your parents?"
"My dad is 5'11 and my mom is 5'8." Hope says. (I actually googled the height of the actors)
"What happened to you?" I ask with a laugh.
The adults, all hearing our conversation with vamp hearing, burst out laughing. Hope groans and buries herself into my chest more.
