I was back in the Avenger's tower making sure to give back Wanda her clothes. I was running errands so i could be prepared before Gwen's party. I had a whole day planned out.
Get up, do my homework, leave off clothes to Wanda, maybe get new clothes from her? Meet Peter at his place and get ready to go out.
I ran into Thor when i got in, he was pacing around the entrance, 'Hey hows it going?' he seemed suddenly shocked to see me as if he didn't see me walk in. 'Hey Zoe, erm...' he grabbed my arms and moved me to the side and got up close. 'Listen i am really stressed out, we know the smokes coming back but we don't know when.' I gasped and covered my mouth, 'What? How?'
He looked around to make sure everything was clear, 'Well since we tested your levels of energy, we can now test any energy and the one similar to the storm is slowly rising.'
'Why are you telling me this?' I said obviously being terrified at him. His eyebrows furrowed as he suddenly realised he was telling a 16 year old girl there was a possible death threat coming to the city. 'I-i dont know, i just consider you one of us now so you have to know.'
If he told me that another time i would've been so happy but this amount of responsibility was not something i asked for. I never wanted to be a superhero, i just wanted to be the person behind them designing, but because of my stupid fucking father it was in my fate.
Tony came marching down the steps, rolling up his grey sleeves near the black sleeves of the shirt he threw on top, layering it. He saw me and gave me a serious smile, strutting to the conference room with Happy quickly pacing behind him. When he opened the door i caught a glimpse of everyone else inside.
'Thor should you be in there?' I asked pointing to the door. He looked as well and turned to me, it's like he had gone mad his eyes were flashing crazy. I knew him as a stone cold god of thunder but it's like he realised the threat of the smoke. Maybe it was that serious.
'You have to come with me, you're a part of this too.' He grabbed onto my arm and went to trail me inside but i stopped him, 'I'm not even properly trained what?? All i can do is control myself.' He shrugged, ' Then uncontrol it'.
Genius idea thanks.
He dragged me further towards the door and when i got inside i saw every Avenger sitting there.
'Peter?'
I stood stunned. I knew he had an internship here but he told me he never met any of them or was involved with big business things. And there he sat with one leg resting on another and his face lying into his hand, but when he saw me he jumped out of his seat. The whole room was shocked at us seeing each other.
'Zoe..' he tried to speak but as i was staring at him, my gaze was interrupted by Tony Stark himself, in front of my eyes, looking angry. 'What are you doing here kid? This is serious business.' He grabbed my shoulders and pushed me backwards out of the door. 'Tony i swear Thor dragged me in, i-i told him this was out of my league but whats Peter doing th-'
'Listen, i've spent so many weeks and contracts to keep this from you and i'm not messing this up by you mistakingly entering a private meeting, now leave.'
'Tony-'
'Leave Zoe.'
It hurt deep hearing this, especially from being so confused with Peter sitting there with them like he was one of them. I stared Tony with my eyes welling up with tears, trying to swallow it back down to the pits of my stomach and bottle it up. I didn't want to break in front of the most richest man in the world. I stormed out of the building, inside i kept cursing out Thor and his craziness for dragging me in there and causing more confusion in my life.
