A/n: Hey! This chapter will switch between POV's.. Happy reading!!
Looking around the bank one more time with the note tucked into the pocket of my skirt, me and the detective walk out. "I don't think I've worked with you yet. Are you new?" Answering me, he said "Yes Miss Viotto. My apologizes, I should've introduced myself. I'm Paul Collins. I'm new and this is actually my first case. I'm glad I got assigned to it with you. Its truly an honor."I burst into a fit of laughter and he looks at me like I'm crazy. After I stop laughing I exclaim, "You don't have to call me Miss Viotto or Detective Viotto. Just call me Mary-Anne! We have to get back to the office anyways to try and figure this case out."
He smiles and we both walk back to the detective's building down the street and head into my office. We work on the case all day with no breaks in it. No calls about a guy who looks like the one who showed up at my door this morning.
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Paul sighs while glancing out the window. "The sun is setting and we still don't have a break in this case Mary-Anne." I yawn. "I know. Is there something we missed back at the bank?" Paul shrugs his shoulders. "Well lets take one last check to be sure and then you can go home and I'll see you tomorrow."
"Sounds good. Lets go." I chuckle and grab my things and so does he. After walking out of my office I lock it up for the night and I lock the door to the building. Paul and me start heading down to the bank. "I'm hoping we find something Mary-Anne. We have no leads and no hints or clues but that note, and it didn't prove to be of much use. At least not to this particular case."
"You're quite right Paul and it seems we've arrived at the bank." We stop walking and stand there for a moment. I wanna get home sooner rather than later, so I break the silence by pushing open the door and strolling inside as Paul rushes in behind me to catch up. "Why hello Detective Viotto!! So nice to see you."
The lady at the front desk smiles. "What can we do for you today?" "I just need to have a quick look around just in case I missed anything." I say. She nods her head saying, "Yep. Check out anything you need to. Gotta hand everything over to the guard in a little bit for closing so try to make it quick." I smile and say thank you as I rush to the back with Paul behind me.
Searching around everywhere we both turn up empty. We meet back at the front and I frown. "I was hoping to get another clue or something we missed." "Me too Mary-Anne."
I sigh as I thank the lady again and head back outside with Paul. "Well. This is where we part for the night. Goodnight Detective Paul." He chuckles, "And good night to you Detective Viotto. And by the way.. You look stunning." He smiles and walks away. I feel the blush rising to my face.
