Chapter 1

Xander

I looked at the shiny thing I bought from the jewelry store. It took almost my half-year salary. But it is nothing compared to how much she has done for me. She's my savior. God, I can't wait to make Zynth Mrs. De Jesus. I love her so much.

Today is our 5th anniversary. God, I really love that girl. I don't know what I will do without her.

With all smiles, I left the mall and went to our favorite coffee shop, where it all started.

I arrived 20minutes earlier. Oh god, I'm shitty nervous. What if she says no. I might kill myself. I almost love her as much as I love myself. Damn Zynth. Got me whipped with her spell.

I turned off the engine as I was removing my helmet when I heard a loud noise from behind. And when I looked back, I saw a speeding car coming to my way. Shit.

All I can think about is Zynth. I love her, I really do. The ring.

Then it went blank.

Zynth

He's been ignoring me for a week already! What is he up to?! And today is our 5th anniversary. Fucking 5th anniv. All he said was "meet me at the coffee shop. 7pm same spot"

He's making me nervous!!! I don't know what I did wrong. Is he about to break up with me? Shitty Xander and his shitty ways and moves.

*plaaaak*

"Oh shit. Just shit." I was about to pick up the broken glass when someone spoke behind me.

"Ma'am ako na po dyan, baka nagaantay na si Sir Xander sainyo. Sige na po" my assistant pastry chef, Alex assured me. I'm glad she's here with me.

"Sure? Sorry ha, kanina pa kasi ako kinakabahan. Di ko alam kung bakit. Tapos late pa ako dahil sa cake ni Xander! Baka mamaya di nya pa 'to magustuhan! Ugh! Nakakastress na!" I rolled my eyes then picked up my key and stuffs.

"Magugustuhan nya yan, Ma'am. Basta bake mo gusto nya" she said with a giggle. I love Alex, she's a cute girl with big ambitions.

"Nambola ka pa!" I laughed with her too to ease my tension. When I looked at our clock, "Shit di pa pala nalilift ang coding noh?!" I asked in disbelief. She gave me an apologetic nod. It's just 20mins before 7, pero exactly 7 pa kasi mawawala ang coding. Grabe! Ilang hours ko ba ginawa 'yung cake? Stupid Zynth. If I have to wait before 7, mas traffic na and baka umalis na 'yon. Shit.

The shop is 20 minutes away without traffic, pero asa pa ako na walang traffic sa Philippines. Whatever I do, I'm late. Pero better late than never ika nga nila. But, earlier is better than late! What am I saying?!

After much thought, I left my shop and hailed a cab to see him. Weird, huh? I have my own pastry&coffee shop but we always meet at another shop. Competitor 'to kung tutuusin e. I laughed at the back of my mind.

"Ma'am saan po tayo?" Ay, I forgot manong driver na!

"Manong, Reader's Cafe po sa Q.C. Kuya pakibilisan din po ha, kahit saan ang daan basta mabilis nagmamadali po ako" he nodded and I smiled.

It's just 20minutes away from here. God, I don't know why my heart's pounding really hard. I'm usually nervous when we meet 'cause he still gives me that butterflies feeling, but this one's different. My hands are all sweaty!

We were almost at the coffee shop when I saw an ambulance and police cars around it.

"Ma'am walking distance nalang po oh. Di na makakadaan kasi may aksidente"
I understood what he meant so I just paid him and ran to the shop.

But what caught my attention is the guy being put in the stretcher.

I dropped the cake I had been working so hard for hours.

"X-xander?" I asked almost inaudible. They didn't hear it. No one's confirming if it's him.

This can't be. I had to ask.

"Excuse me" I said trying to find my way between the policemen. They can't hear me. I can't breathe.

Calm yourself, Zynth. You have to confirm it first! Calm down!

"Excuse me!" I shouted but it seems like it's just a whisper for them. But I'm glad they still heard me.

"S-sino po yan?" I asked the taller policeman who looks like he's confirming the identity of the victim. He's holding his license and other stuffs.

"Xander De Jesus."

Three names, and my world collapsed.
