"Lady (Y/N), is something the matter?" Xiao questioned her. He was showing no emotion, but deep down he was worried that something had happened and he was not there.
"..." She paid attention to the garden outside and watched as the autumn leaves danced together in the wind. She twirled her pencil in her hand before placing it down.
"Are you hurt? Did someone hurt you?" He asked once more. No answer. He did not want to do anything rash, for he did not want to make her angry, so he decided to keep his mouth shut.
"Foolish human." He sighed and rubbed his head with the palm of his head. "I cannot seem to comprehend her. Very much like her father."
He clenched his jaw. "That damn bastard. He will pay."
"Hey look! It's Childe!" A girl squealed and pointed to the doorframe where Childe and another man stood. (Y/N) averted her attention from the garden to the door and saw the ginger whispering something into the other man's ear. The man nodded and stared at (Y/N) while Childe playfully winked at her and soon left.
Xiao clenched his fist and his eyebrows furrowed. He scoffed and crossed his arms over his chest when he noticed (Y/N) had flushed red.
The man who was with Childe proceeded to walk towards (Y/N) as all the girls stared at him in awe. His lips curved upwards when he stood in front of Xiao and (Y/N).
"It's a pleasure seeing you, Xiao." He ruffled the vermillion's hair as a chuckle escaped his lips. "How do you do?"
"I'm fine." He slowly relieved of his tenseness and looked up to meet his amber eyes. "It's good to see you too, Zhongli."
"Are you two acquaintances?" The female stood up and placed a hand on Xiao's shoulder which caused him to tense up once more. She examined him from head to toe and raised an eyebrow.
"Why yes, we've know each for quite some time now. How rude of me." He bowed, gently grasped her hand, and placed a small kiss on top of it. "My name is Zhongli, and I am Master Childe's majestic beast. It is an honor meeting you, Lady Kiyozaki."
He released his grip and fixed his glove. (Y/N), uncertain as to why he was sent here, crossed her arms and shifted her weight to her right leg.
"Master Childe has requested to eat lunch with you tomorrow. It will please him greatly if you accept his invitation."
The pounding inside of (Y/N)'s chest became louder by the second. She couldn't help but smile at the thought of her and Childe sharing a lunch together. But a thought came across her mind.
"That sounds great and all, but why did he send you to tell me?" She tilted her head at Zhongli, who cleared his throat.
"He had some, you could say, business to attend to. Not to worry, he apologizes and will bring you a gift if you join him."
"Where will this place be?"
"He will come and pick you up, I do not know of the location myself. Master Childe is very secretive when it comes to matters like these."
Xiao tightened the grip on his arm. His eyebrow twitched every time he heard Childe's name.
Why does she like him? He thought. I really do not understand human emotions. And why does my heart hurt all of a sudden?
"Very well, I accept."
Xiao stood up to reject the idea. "Lady-."
"Only on one condition." She wrapped an arm around Xiao's arm. "Only if he drops me off and then watches from a distance." She rolled her eyes and released Xiao. "Who knows what he'll do if I don't say this."
Zhongli smiled and agreed to the condition. "You shouldn't be to harsh on him, he's only looking out for you from these horrible people." He politely excused him and waved at both of the two as he tried his best not to bump into the the people crowding over him.
He closed the door shut, exhaled, and rested on it for a moment. His eyes focused on to the painted ceiling.
"You'll soon see what Master Childe really plans on doing. Alatus, please protect her."

"Are you actually going to meet him?" Keqing asks. The lunch bell rang and everyone was rushing out of their classrooms. Some stayed here and quietly ate their lunches by themselves or with other people.
"Sure, I don't see the problem." (Y/N) pushes her seat back and stands up, pushing it back into her desk. Xiao follows her movements.
"The problem is that, one, you barely know the guy, and two, he wants to meet you at a secret location? Do you not think that's suspicious?" Keqing blocked the doorframe with her body to prevent (Y/N) from going out.
"Please move. I don't want to be late." Her gaze at Keqing was sharp and her voice was stern. Ganyu placed her hands onto Keqing's shoulders slowing pulling her aside.
"Let's not get in their way, Lady Keqing. Please, let us go and eat lunch together by the fountain. I'm sure Lady (Y/N) will be fine with Xiao around." The doorframe was cleared now that she was no longer standing there.
(Y/N) and Xiao started their walk down the hallway and out of Keqing and Ganyu's sight. The purple-haired girl exhaled disappointedly as the palm of her hand met her forehead.
"I do worry for that girl. She's strange." She crossed her arms and faced Ganyu. "And Xiao, he's difficult to understand."
She shook her head and took Ganyu's hand in her own. She blushed as Keqing gave her a warm smile. "Let's go enjoy our lunch, shall we?"
