Chapter Three~ Sneaking out is tricky (part one)

  Clara POV

I had just come back from shopping with Emily for the fare tonight when I found Louis in the kitchen eating some leftover lasagna. I had been avoiding him all day, because of yesterday. "Oh hey," he smiled awkwardly.

"Hi," I mumbled and made my way upstairs.

"Wait um do you want to bake some cupcakes with me?" he called out. I stopped and turned around walking back down the stairs.

"Cupcakes ?" I questioned.

"Yeah to thank your dad for letting me, well for letting us stay here" he smiled cheekily.

"Sure, let's make some cupcakes then" I smiled.

While baking the cupcakes Louis threw some flour at me. I wiped it out of my face and puffed it at him. Somewhere between that laughing fit, the flour fell on the floor. We both bent to pick it up and when he kissed me, I kissed back instantly, me feeling the need too. That's when all hell broke loose when my father and the rest of the boys decided to walk in at this moment.

"What the hell?" my dad screamed and that's what broke us apart.

Here we are, standing as we each exchange glances. Mostly from my dad. He goes back and forth between us and it's making me uncomfortable. I look at myself to see flour all over my clothes and my hands. I want to laugh at how ridiculous I look but the look on his face caused that feeling to go away. "Louis I thought I told you to stay away from my daughter?".

"You did but-" Louis starts but gets cut off by my dad.

"Ok if I did how come I walk in on you and my daughter....kissing" He had a look of disgust on his face. We both remained silent we knew that if we try to say something it won't help.

"Ok Zayn and Liam clean this up, Clara go up to your room you are grounded for the rest of the night".

"But-".

He shot me a glare testing me. I sighed and went upstairs.

I got in the shower and wash my hair. I got out and got dressed in some pj's and laid in bed. Guess I can forget about going to the fair. I sighed as my phone rang. "Hello?".

"Clara, where are you, you were supposed to be at my house right now?".

"I can't go?".

"What? Why?".

I sighed "I'm grounded".

I heard laughter on the other side.

"That's funny now seriously what happened?".

"Em, I'm serious".

"Oh I thought you were joking I just never thought ms.goody two shoes would get grounded", She said humorously.

"Well, I did". I said rolling my eyes at her comment.

"What happened?".

I explained the whole story to her. "Hold up he kissed you?" She yelled.

"Yeah."

"Oh, my gosh was it good? Is he a bad kisser? Did he use-".

"Wow Em it was just one kiss...but it was nice," I said blushing.

"Aww," she said.

"But if he tries anything just let me know and I take care of it" she threatened.

I laughed "Ok Em".

"Hey, I have a plan I'll be there in ten".

"Why-".

"Don't question just be ready by the time I get there". She hung up.

There I was waiting in my bedroom as I heard someone knock on my door. I opened it quickly as I smile formed on my face but quickly dropped when I came in contact with the person in front of me.

"Hey Clara" his British voice showed.

"Oh hey Louis," I said with my gaze on the ground.

"Look...Clara, I'm sorry for kissing you" he said sincerely.

"Ok," I said hinting for him to continue.

" I was hoping we could put it past us and still be friends?". I looked into his bright blue eyes that were filled with hope. I couldn't help but feel disappointed at the word friends. I thought that kiss meant he likes me. Whatever like I care.

"Sure, " I said as he beamed. He was about to say something when someone called out his name.

"Louis! Hurry up!" A voice rang down the hallway which sounded like Liam.

"I'm coming" he yelled back "You guys going somewhere?" I said as he turned back to me.

"Yea, your dad is taking us to the fair".

My smile dropped as he said the word fair.

"You ok?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah I'm fine you have fun, " I said with a fake smile.

"Thank, sorry about the whole grounded thing".

"It's ok it's not your fault," I said with a sincere smile.

"Well maybe we can do it again sometime?" he said walking backward, staring at me.

"Wow slow your roll only best friends get to bake with me," I said smiling.

"I thought I was your best friend," he said fake sobbing. I roll my eyes and laugh.

"Bye Louis".

"Bye beautiful," he said winking and heading downstairs. I close my door and lean back against it.

Bye, beautiful, I felt the heat rush to my cheeks as his voice became stuck in my head.

My phone rang snapping me out of my thoughts. "Hello?".

"I'm outside, " Emily said.

"Wait are they gone?" I asked her.

"Yea, why?".

"No reason I'll be right out".

I know that I'm grounded but that didn't dissuade me from leaving. I hung up and grabbed my black purse placing some essential items in it. I ran downstairs and put on my white flats. I walked outside and got into Emily's car.

"Hey, " she said.

"Hey, where are we going?".

"To the fair," she said giving me a 'duh' look.

"But that's where they went".

"Well then we'll just avoid them," she said with a smirk on her face.

"Well, then what the hell are we still doing here let's go!" I yelled as she high fives me and started the car.

We were driving when we started to slow down.

"What happening?" I said getting nervous.

"No, no, no Kenny don't die on me" she yelled hitting the car.

"Of course" I mumbled slumping I my chair.

"No! Ugh," she yelled hitting the car one last time.

"Why did you take 'Kenny' and not your brother's car?" I said getting frustrated.

"Because my brother took it to some party," she said sighing.

"Well, I guess we can't just sit here lets walk" . She looked at me in disgust.

"Well do you have a better idea?"

"No" she mumbled.

"Ok then lets go," I said stepping out of the car as the cold air hit my body causing me to shiver.

"Where the hell are we?" I say shivering.

"I think we're lost".

"Wow really what gave it away?" I said rolling my eyes.

"Hey don't be mad at me".

"Yes, I should be mad at you cause you're the one who took 'Kenny' ".

"But you're the one who agreed to go in the first place".

"Whatever", I sighed. A few moments later.

"Look, let's not fight cause we won't get anywhere if we do" she spoke up walking next to me.

"Okay let's just check our phones for the location" she nodded. I went in my purse and grabbed my phone.

"Ugh, no freaking service" I yell.

"Me too," she said sighing.

"Well this night us just perfect," I say as we continue to walk freezing our arses off.

"Wait," Emily said stopping.

"What?" I said confused.

"Listen," she said putting a finger to her mouth. I nodded confused and listened. I hear faint music in the background it sort of sounded like carnival music. We looked at each other wide-eyed and started to run towards the music.

A few minutes later we turn a corner and see a huge carnival across the street. A big Ferris wheel in the background, loud carnival music playing, children bouncing around excitedly and parents walking in being dragged by their kids, renders handing out balloons and stuffed animals. The fair was lit up with lights shining so brightly in the night sky. We run over to the tickets booth. "How may I help you?" The man asked.

"Two tickets please," I asked. He hands me the tickets, and I give him the money.

"Oh my god this is so good" Emily yells receiving looks from people. I laugh at the girl who has he face stuffed in cotton candy. We walk over to a booth where there a lot of people crowded around it.

"Step right up and be the first to guess which card is the queen of hearts!" The man yells as we push through and get to the front.

"I'll try it," I say as everyone stares at me.

"Alright young lady, keep your eyes on the card," he tells me and shows me the card.

"I'm going to switch them around, and you have to guess where it goes if you do you get a prize," he said pointing to the prizes behind him. I nod as he begins to switch them around.

"Where the card goes nobody knows," he said as I kept my gaze on the cards.

"Ok, miss where do you think the card is?". I think for a second and point to the middle one.

"There."

"Are you sure?" He asks. I nod my head. He flips it over and it's the card. Everyone cheers as I smile. "Well done miss which prize would you like?" He said walking over to the prizes. I search the prizes as I look at this bunny and I die a little inside at how cute it was.

"I'll take that one," I said pointing to the bunny. He unclipped it and handed it to me.

"Here you go, miss, have a nice time," he says as I walk away.

"Aww it's so cute," Em says as we get in line for the Ferris wheel.

"Any single riders to the front" the operator calls out. We look up and see a cute guy standing by the gate.

"Oh well at-" I start to say as I turn to my right and see a space that use to hold my best friend. I look around and see her getting on the Ferris wheel with the guy. She makes eye contact with me as she mouths 'sorry' and gives me a thumbs up. Thanks a lot best friend. I roll my eyes and move up.

"Any single riders to the front," They call again. I sigh and go to the front. I look up as I make it to the front. My heart stops as I come face-to-face with none other than Louis Tomlinson.
