I look up at the ceiling as I sighed heavily. The day I dreaded for so long is finally here. Today we go to court to figure out who gets custody of me. I love both my parents but I don't want to go with my dad to Miami. Everything and everyone I love is here, Clara, my mom, even the boys, especially Zayn. I didn't even think about what would happen to us if I moved to Miami with my dad. Long distance never works, I learn from experience, they never work out because their too far and they grow apart.
"Emily" my mom said from outside my door.
"Come in" I say to lazy to get up. She opens the door and comes in. She turns around and smiles weakly at me before sitting on my bed next to me.
"Emily", she sighed as I sat up to look at her, "I want to know no matter what happens today I love you" she said as she embraced me.
"Mom it sounds like your giving up already" I said as she frowns.
"I know I'm sorry" she said as she teared up.
"Oh mom" I chuckle and hug her again.
"I'm sorry" she said again and started to cry on my shoulder.
"Stop crying your gonna make me cry", I say trying to lighten the mood, she laughs "let's go" she says as we exit my room.
"Hey everything will be okay" Zayn says and places I hand on mine. I smile back at him halfheartedly. My mom's lawyer was currently questioning my dad. He was sweating uncontrollably and the lawyer interrogates him. All the boys, Clara and her dad came to support me today. I need them now more then ever considering this might be one of our last moments together.
"Is it true Mr.Carter that you have been going out and coming home late?" My mom's lawyer, Jack Hinds, asked my dad.
"Yes".
"Is it also true that you are accompanied by coworkers?" He asked.
My dad gulped, "Yes".
'Why does he look so guilty?' My brain says.
"Have you ever been joined this young woman?" Jack asked holding up a picture of a young lady around her twenties.
"Yes" my dad said.
"Have you ever participated in any physical activities with her?", he asked.
"Objection !, this is irrelevant to the case" Carl, my dad's lawyer says as he stood up.
"Overruled, continue Mr.Hinds" The judge says.
"Mr.Carter have you ever participated in physical activities with this young lady?" Jack repeated as my dad stayed silent.
"Mr.Carter you are under oath you must answer the question" the judge said.
"No" my dad said, I knew he was lying by the look on his face. It hurt so much that he would even do anything to hurt mom like that.
"Ok I have heard enough, Anne Carter has now gained full custody of Emily Carter, cased dismissed" she pounded the mallet. A smile grew on my face, and I was soon attacked by a group hug.
"You guys are ridiculous" I say as we let go and I hug Clara. She was crying on my shoulder as I found myself crying too.
"I'm so glad your here to stay" she said.
"Me too" I said as we let go. I look over and see my mom. I run up to her and hug her so tight. She laughs which soon turns into weeps.
" Mom," I laugh as she joins me.
I look around for my dad but I don't see him anywhere. I was kind of disappointed that he didn't even bother to say anything to me, but soon ignored that feeling once my eyes connect with Zayn's. He opens his arms and I run into them. He lift's me up in a bear hug off the ground. I laugh as he sets me down. "I love you" he says which catches me off guard. I ignore that feeling and kiss him. Right then and there I felt on top of the world. This is officially the best day ever.
