Her POV //
Miles had to leave early this morning, I felt him kiss my head and whisper that he loved me. I was honestly too tired to move or talk but it was very sweet of him.
After freshening up, I headed downstairs to make breakfast.
I froze, seeing a vase of flowers on the kitchen counter. This man had my entire heart.
'I love you, have a good day! Breakfast is in the microwave :) - M ♡'
Melting. I'm melting. I began heating up the food before messing Miles.
Me: Thank you for the flowers and breakfast! I love you
Just as the microwave beeped, the doorbell rang. I guess I'm going to break it before Miles can.
I quickly made my way to the door, looking at the monitor nearby to see my fathers right hand man, Will. The man was more of a father to me than James was.
I opened the door, startling him. "Will? did he send you here?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at him.
He chuckled, shaking his head at me. "Can we talk privately?" he asked seriously.
Holy shit is James dying but too stubborn to tell me?
I let him in, leading him into the kitchen. "Can I eat as you talk?" I asked, taking my food out the microwave.
He smiled at me, nodding as he sat by the counter.
I watched as he placed his bag on the counter, clearing his throat.
"Um, did Carter ever do any work with your father I wasn't made aware of?" he asked nonchalantly.
Why kind of question was that? No? Why would my father ever hire a boyfriend of mine?
I shook my head, swallowing the food in my mouth before I spat it out. Just hearing his name made me sick to my stomach.
He reached into the bag, holding onto a file. I froze with nerves, what the fuck was on there?
"As you know, I have access to your fathers finances, making sure everything's okay..." he dragged, the pit in my stomach growing with each passing second.
"I could get in serious trouble for even showing you this" he continued, placing it on the table.
I couldn't look, not yet. "He paid Carter fortnightly instalments of five thousand dollars. Now I don't know why but you needed to know" He revealed.
I stood up, holding onto the countertop trying not to jump to conclusions or go crazy. I opened the file, grabbing the sheets out, looking through them.
"Oh my fucking god" i gasped, covering my mouth. "I'm going to throw up, Will"
His eyes widened, grabbing the sheet as he looked through it. "What did you see that I don't?" He asked, furrowing his brows.
I began pacing the kitchen, taking deep breaths. He fucking did it, that monster.
"The first instalment was on the fourth of May... the day Carter and I began dating" I breathed out, holding onto my chest.
Will was still very confused, continuing to look through the pages.
"The date of the last instalment, that's the day we broke up. He fucking paid Carter to date me?" I exclaimed, putting my head in my hands.
A whole year of my life, it was all manipulated by my father. I want to kill him, to strangle him. I want to
Will stared at the paper in shock before glancing up at me, "You're gonna go confront him aren't you?" he asked.
I shook my head, groaning. "If I do, you'll lose your job"
He pressed his lips together, thinking. "No, Will. You're not losing your job because i want to rip my father's head off" I scoffed, ripping up the paper.
"I will find another, now please go. I can never look at him again" He assured, grabbing his bag.
I followed him out, grabbing my bag before shutting the door before getting into my car. I'm going to make him regret ever having me.
As soon as I parked in front of the building, I stormed inside. "Miss Constantine, I can't let you in. Bosses orders" the security guard winced.
I glanced at him, "I'm never coming back here so, just let me in. I don't think my father wants bad press and we all know the shit I could tell the media" I spoke, staring right at the camera.
I knew he was watching. The guard listened to his ear piece, granting me access inside so I went straight up to his office.
The doors were already open, Oliver sitting across from James.
"Meeting over, leave now." I demanded, glaring at my father.
Oliver quickly got up, leaving the office leaving the two of us alone. He sat there, crossing his arms at me.
"No audience today?" He smirked, looking around for Miles or Theo.
I smiled at him, "why would I want witnesses to a crime" I spoke sarcastically.
Before he could even speak, I shushed him. It was quite funny but now's not the time to laugh.
"You paid Carter to date me? Are that sick in the head? I'm disgusted to even be related to you" I yelled angrily, throwing the chair on the floor.
His eyes widened as he held onto his glass of scotch, the usual.
"Oh Aria, you worked for me so if anything, that money was on you" He responded, shrugging his shoulder.
Money. Money. Money.
"That's your fucking problem, all you care about is money. That's not going to buy your children back or your wife. That's not going to bring you grandchildren or love. You're not even capable of it" I responded, feeling the urge to cry.
I grabbed my cheque book from my bag, "How much huh? how much to get rid of you? to strip away every part of you from my life? Five thousand dollars a fortnight for a year?"
I filled out the cheque, tears forming in my eyes as he grunted. I slammed it on the table, breaking the pen in my hand.
"There, reimbursement. A hundred and thirty thousand to your name"
