The night of October 12th, Seonghwa laid in his dorm, not sleeping, but thinking.
Did everything really just change in one night?
He rolled over.
Maybe. . . Yeosang doesn't want to be together any- but the thought was shaken from his head. He'd met Yeosang barely a year ago, after moving for University, but they were Souls. Seonghwa knew this.
Not only due to their very obvious birthmarks but the emotional and physical feelings which accompanied them.
Tossing and turning, he awoke his dormmate.
"Park Seonghwa!" The other groaned, annoyed. "Sleep!"
"Yeah, sorry, Hongjoong." He tried to stay still. . . But, "Joong, actually, can we talk. Please?"
Glancing at his phone, Hongjoong saw it was one am, he'd have to be up in five hours, but even in the dark he could see his friend's glossy eyes looking up at him. So he tried not to sigh. "Of course, Hwa, what's up?"
Subconsciously touching next to his eye, Seonghwa spoke. "It's my, well-- Yeosang- he. . ."
"Yeah. . ." Hongjoong tried. "I noticed he stopped coming around, and you've been irritable. Your desk is even a mess."
To Hongjoong's great relief, this earned a chuckle from the older. "I know. . . He, Yeosang--he, cheated o-on me."
Oh. Hongjoong was wide awake now. "Seonghwa," the younger breathed. "I'm so sorry. . ."
"B-but I love him." He tried not to sob. "So much it hurts. I-I haven't tried to talk since that n-night. Neither has Yeo though," he scoffed, "and he's the one that screwed up, right? So why should I go back to him after? UGH." Forcefully falling back onto his bed, Seonghwa waited for the other's answer.
"What happened? I mean," Hongjoong clarified, "how did he cheat?"
Seonghwa rolled over in bed to face the shorter's bed. "It was one of his friend's parties, at a club. So Yeo was drinking, and of course there were touchy people, I mean the boy is gorgeous," Seonghwa scoffed. "I knew he shouldn't of worn that skirt but-"
"Seonghwa," the younger cut in. "Are you serious right now? You're actually going to blame what he was wearing? People shouldn't be touchy no matter what he's wearing unless he allows it."
Seonghwa's cheeks heated up in realization and he cringed at himself. "Sorry. . . you're right. I guess I'm," he groaned again. "I'm just trying to find excuses. . ."
When Hongjoong didn't answer, the older continued. "Anyway, my eomma called, needing help with Appa. So I had to leave, but it didn't even take long so I came back to the club like barely an hour later. A-and, he was practically in someone's lap, full on making out with the guy. I-I, it's like my heart broke. . .and then he turned and saw me. The look on Yeo's face when he saw me." Seonghwa shuddered at the memory. ". . .He looked terrified. But I just left. And we haven't talked since."
Hongjoong thought for a moment. "Well the silent treatment sounds healthy."
Rolling his eyes, Seonghwa scoffed. "Tell me about it."
In the darkness, the older looked over at Hongjoong. "Do-- do you think he regrets it. . .?"
"Oh, Hyung," Hongjoong cooed. "Yes." He looked toward the other bed, trying to find his hyung's starry eyes in the dark. "I've not met my Soul yet--fingers crossed--but the way you two are around each other, he's clearly in love with you, Hwa."
