It's day one of Genesis starting her new eating habits and she almost reaches for the whole grain oatmeal she always eats.

She corrects herself and makes herself pancakes and bacon.

Genesis stacks two pancakes on her plate and douses them in syrup. She slices through the sticky mass with a knife and a fork and puts the first bite into her mouth. She puckers at the intensity of the sweetness. She's not used to having so much sugar this early in the morning but she finishes everything on her plate anyway.

She places the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and finishes getting ready for work. She had plans to meal prep for this week and bring home cooked meals to work everyday for lunch but now she has to change those plans. She'll just order lunch to the office today.

The drive to the office is long and boring but once she steps through the front door, the place is buzzing. The chaos of the busy season has arrived.

Genesis quickly gets sucked into her work; filing paperwork, calling agencies, answering questions from interns, making phone calls, and answering emails. By the time lunch rolls around she's starving. She goes to the office fridge and opens it up just to find her lunch box missing.

Right. She remembers she didn't pack a lunch today. Genesis goes back to her desk and sits down. She pulls out her phone and starts scrolling through all the restaurants that deliver. She settles on a person sized pizza, garlic knots, and some wings.

Everything she orders arrives within the next twenty minutes and she closes the door to her office so she can be alone. She can still hear a bit of muffled chatter from outside her office, but for the most part she enjoys the peace.

She's surprised at how fast she gets full, especially because of how hungry she was before the food got here.

Genesis completely finishes all of the garlic knots and wings but it's the pizza that's giving her trouble. It's all that bread and cheese she's not used to. Chewing through it all is taking so long and her jaw is starting to get tired. Eventually, she manages to get through it all in between sips and by taking multiple breaks.

Genesis sits back in her chair. She's never felt so bloated before. It's probably all the bread. She hasn't consumed this much white bread in one sitting before. Her stomach gurgles it's displeasure. For dinner she'd have to have something lighter, she thinks to herself. Otherwise she's not going to be able to move.

She takes a moment to gather herself before delving back into work. There's a meeting at 3 that she's leading but after that she's free to go home. Genesis stands up and readjusts her pants so they sit above her bellybutton. The formal pants don't have much give to them making them rather uncomfortable.

'I can't wait to get home and slip into some sweats.'

Once shes convinced herself that she's covered her bloated tummy sufficiently, Genesis makes her way to the boardroom.

Having everyone staring at her makes her more nervous than usual. The entire time she's wondering whether or not people can notice the slight change in her figure.

'Of course they can't.' She reasons with herself, 'It's not like that one meal made you fat.'

It's true. She's not fat... yet. It hits her, that eventually her weight gain is going to be more noticeable; much more noticeable. She shakes the thought out of her mind. That's a future Genesis problem.

She makes it through the meeting unscathed.

Genesis sends off a couple more emails before locking up her office for the day.

She walks out into the hallway and decides to take the elevator instead of the stairs. The metal doors slide closed behind her and she stares at the buttons on the wall panel. It takes her a second to figure out which one leads to the car park but she locates it.

On her way home, Genesis almost takes a wrong turn. Muscle memory wants her to drive to the gym but the gym is no longer going to help her reach her goals. She'll have to remember to take her gym bag out of the car once she arrives home.

She doesn't know what to do with all the free time she has now. She's not used to just coming straight home after work.

Genesis decides to order groceries to her house. Once everything is stocked and organized she orders dinner. Her stomach still hurts from lunch this afternoon but she knows she has to keep eating to reach her goal.

She eats two burgers, an order of fries, and a slushee and then hobbles off to bed.
