the dinner party didn't end on the best terms. the son of one of the ally families now had his handsome face scratched for the rest of his life. Voldemort had plans with his werewolf death eaters. the school was still shaken from the incident in the Slytherin common room and it didn't help that another one had happened.

a young blonde had been pinned to a wall with a stake. prim was one of the firsts to find her lifeless body. her waves of hair hung over her pale colorless face, plump lips as purple as berries. she was a good friend of the Mikealson's. on the wall words were printed in blood again. blood for blood, it said. prim knew it was meant for her. it was a message from the death eaters. from Voldemort.

The word got around just as quick as last time. students filed into the great hall for breakfast. it wasn't as loud as usual. everyone was quiet, talking only amongst their closest friends and keeping an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.

harry sat by hermoine and Ron. "hey guys." when both his friends simply acknowledged him with a nod and a tight smile, he grew concerned. "why have you been acting weird lately? both of you."

ron grew red under the attention from his best friend. the fork around his hand had traces of sweat. "weird? what do you mean weird? we haven't been weird right hermoine?"

hermoine noticed the boys clammy hands and closed her book with a fake smile. "I think the uh...incidents have just influenced all of us harry."

"right. the incidents.", harry noted. "who do you think is behind them?"

ron played with the food on his plate. what happened at the library hadn't managed to escape his head for a second. "some psycho seeking attention."

"well I think it might not have to do anything with the school. I think there's a conflict between the death eaters.", hermoine suggested.

"the death eaters?", harry questioned. "why? they're a team."

"not a stable one clearly.", hermoine continued. "everything has been happening in the Slytherin common rooms so far. if that doesn't speak for itself I don't know what does."

a glint of hope was evident in Harry's eyes. "does that mean we could have a better chance at eliminating them then? if they're fighting against each other they surely won't be able to fight against us right?"

hermoine pushed away her plate, having lost her appetite. "he-who-must-not-be-named is still planning something. we should still protect our backs. maybe these are all distractions. before the really bad things start to happen."

ron looked at the curly haired Gryffindor and wondered how she could just let what they'd seen go. how she could so easily push it away and continue with her life as if nothing had happened. " well it's really a shame that last girl was killed. she wasn't a Slytherin was she? I wonder if anyone saw it happen."
