In a village in rural Colombia, lived an extraordinary family who were blessed with a miracle. Children of the family received amazing abilities that permitted them fame throughout the entire town; every occasion they left their home, people would revel in splendour and awe of the Madrigal family who blessed them with their gifts and dedication to the village.

Not every family member were blessed with such powers, but there was one in particular in the Madrigal bloodline who was most unfortunate to not receive hers. Her name was Mirabel Madrigal, a unique girl who struggled growing up in a family who could manipulate their gifts to the benefit of their family and that of the people of Encanto.

However, there was scepticism to a resident of Encanto who seemed to possess a rare gift, to cast illusions; but at a great cost of losing his eyesight. His name was Javier Osorio, a twenty-two year old boy who caught the attention of the family in late teenagerhood. People were wary of him for being different to everybody else and the renowned Madrigal's.

There was great speculation about the origin of his powers and whether he were a descendant of Abuela Alma - the head of the Madrigal family who basically governed the town. It were Abuela Alma who indiscreetly showed prejudice against Javier for reasons unknown; reasons that not even her own family would dare question.

What's more was that Abuela Alma's distaste for Javier grew all the more when he and her nieta, Isabela - the golden child of the family who was forced to uphold many expectations. A most important task being for her to unify two families together. The only question was: would Isabela be willing to carry out such a task for the sake of her Abuela?

*Flashback*

It was a quiet, sunny day in Encanto. Another typical day in paradise. Some of the Madrigal's had wandered about the village doing what they could. Meanwhile, a beautiful young woman in a purple dress sat all by herself on a bench, decorating her waist-long hair with many coloured flowers. Her attention was stolen by the sound of a loud bang right in front of her. A boy about her age in a red and black poncho had stumbled over some toppled baskets that fell off a cart.

A few others gathered around to help. The woman let out a faint yelp at the sight of the sight and jumped up to her feet to help also. He stuttered profusely in thanks for the assistance of his fellow villagers. The physical touch from the woman left both she and the stranger quite flabbergasted. When she tried to look at him in his eyes, she found it impossible to do so due to the fact that the hood of his poncho concealed the upper half of his face.

"A-Are you okay?" He stammered as his skin became riddled with goosebumps.

The woman replied with a low tone. "Yeah... A-Are you?"

"Yeah. I'm fine. My name is Javier. Javier Osorio, Señorita...?"

"Isabela."

"What a beautiful name."

The brunette giggled. "You flatter me, Señor Osorio."

Something out of the corner of her eye caused her to jump. The fingers of one hand perched like a spider and touched her chest when three seal statues hobbled along beside Javier.

"Oh, don't worry about them. They're very friendly - on account that they are the embodiment of my current emotions." Javier assured her with a gentle smile he shot her way.

Isabela's eyebrows jumped up, a surprised expression formed. The stone seal statues all wobbled and rattled on the floor which created the sound that grabbed her attention.
