Chapter 7

That's it. enough, enough pretending and acting. I got a job and I've got to do it. Yesterday's weakness won't ever stop me today, I'll do my job like there's no tomorrow and I won't pretend anymore, I'll act just like how I feel from now on.

I was making my way to the training field prepared for my new job, my new responsibility I shall say. "Good morning captain Levi" I saluted. "Good morning, ready for the new experience?" He wanted to make sure I was fine because yesterday he saw my weak side, but oh no dear this side took it's time and no longer will get in the way. I nodded as answer .

" Alright since everyone is present we have an announcement!" I started, "Antoine has been roughly yet dangerously injured, and the scout regiment is in need of skilled captains as soon as possible, which means: I'll be taking his place and shadowing captain Levi" I announced gaining few confused looks. "She's your superior now cadets, I know things are evolving very quickly these day but we shall get used to it very fast too, now lets get started with our training. The exhibition is in two weeks."

"We'll use our ODM gear today, it isn't our first training or first mission so please bother to recall your previous mistakes in order to prevent them" I said while putting on my ODM gear.

"YEAGER! STOP IT RIGHT NOW" I yelled at him while making my way towards him. "THAT COULD'VE KILLED YOU! YOU WASTED SO MUCH GAS JUST TO BE FASTER THAN JEAN! THIS RECKLESS USE OF GAS WOULD END UP LETTING YOU FALL FEW SECONDS LATER AND DYING IN THE MOST USELESS WAY!" He immediately froze and landed on the nearest surface, followed by me. Once we both landed I waved my hand towards Jean as an order for him join us, they both looked frightened. "We are training for this goddamn mission and y'all are racing and wasting gas thinking you two are capable enough to take down titans without training?Levi's office after lunch you two, he'll know what to do with you."

After training it was time for lunch, that means I should sit on the table with Levi, Erwin, Hange and mike. The problem is I'm not used to sitting with them? Or maybe I don't want to be around Levi since he's been looking so fucking good and I can hardly breathe around him without blushing hell am I supposed to do...
 "Rose, over here!" Hange called. "Ah Rose! nice to see you! congratulations on the new position" Erwin greeted. "Oh yes thank you commander!" I responded while taking a seat next to Hange. "Oh please, no need for these names anymore, just Erwin is fine. You're one of us now" Erwin smiled after finishing his sentence.

"This reminds me.. We need to talk Rose" Erwin started, I nodded assuring him that I'm all ears. "You see, now with you new position your responsibility's are different and you should attend some meetings and events with us... the day after tomorrow will be a big day, there'll be a small celebration in Dot Pixis house and we should be there, along with you of course." He announced. "Oh? a celebration? But there is no special occasion.. I mean sure but it's kind of odd isn't is?" I was genuinely taken by surprise.

"God, finally someone with common sense in this place" Levi scoffed while holding a tea cup in a very weird way. "Levi you're no one to talk, holding a cup like that is too far from common sense" I mocked. "Pfft I'm sorry but this was a good good one Rose." Hange patted my back while looking she chocked on the bread she had in her mouth due to laughing.

"Tch, why did you invite Yeager and Kirstein to my dear office?" He asked sarcastically.
"Thought you missed them and you're a very shy person so I thought I'd invite them and- Like why the fuck? obviously because they need a punishment of some sort or they won't stop missing around and wasting gas?" I replied also sarcastically.

It was the day before the celebration, Hange came storming into my room at 5AM literally 5AM.
"Hange what!?!"
"YOU NEED TO GET READY!!!!! ITS LATE. ITS 5AM"
"What 5? Shit! NO ITS SO EARLY ITS 5AM NOT PM RIGHT?"
"YES!?"
"I almost peed my pants you idiot, come here let's cuddle for a bit" Before I could even finish she ran and cuddle me up while stroking my hair. I hugged her just as tight.
"Soo what are ya wearin today?" She asked.
"A suit, I've been wanting to wear one for a while now, you?"
"Same here, dresses aren't my thing at all" ?She answered.
"Wait idiot the celebration isn't even today what the fuck are you talking about? I'm so confused?"
"OH MY GOD YES ITS NOT TODAY? AND BY THE WAY ERWIN SAID TODAY IS OFF SO WE CAN HANG OUT!!!"
"What? no training? he wants us to die that bad huh?"
"So lets get up!"
"Hange pleaseeeee why do you feel so energetic now"
"Levi, he wants to sit with us! He has never requested anything like this before so I feel very excited !" The moment she mentioned his name, I felt my cheeks heating up.
"Alright, go see what he wants"
"Huh? You're coming too? he literally requested for all of our presence"
"Oh? lets go?" 
 After we both got dressed, we went to some meeting room. "Took you both long enough, Tch" He complained. "So what is this about?" I asked while taking a seat right in front of him and right next to Hange.
"This isn't for any of you motherfuckers sake. It's for my sake and mental health..tch what i'm trying to say is, I took someone's advice and they suggested I spend time trying to socialize willingly." He explained while gazing at the teacup in front of him. "So may I ask why am I here?" I was confused? if he invited Hange and Erwin I won't be surprised but he invited me as well? "If you're so bothered you can simply just fuck off and leave" Okay boy hell no, you should learn some manners. "If someone asks you a question you can simply just answer politely without this nasty attitude of yours, your OCD should've taken over your nasty mouth as well instead of scrubbing the trash until your hands bleed" I was filled up with rage, he can't just invite me to humiliate me? Who does he think he is?
As soon as I finished the sentence I felt harsh pressure on my foot, I glanced at my foot from under the table only to meet his leg in front of mine. That bitch really kicked my leg?
"What a pussy, no words to say so you'll just kick my leg? so very impressively stupid" I shot him a glare as I finished my sentence. "What did we say on abusing our comrades Levi?" Erwin 'warned'.

I got up and glanced at Levi once more, "Before working on your mental shit, learn some manners first, because trust me no one is gonna keep up with your shitty attitude" I left the room feeling a mixture of emotions: Rage, guilt, sadness and satisfaction. I felt so bad because he decided to help himself for once and even trusted me enough to be there, and what did I do? Probably made him feel worse.

Levi's POV:
She's right. If I had invited her, and I literally invited her for my own sake which means its a selfish reason, then I should've been respectful at least. Tch, I'll probably have to deal with Erwin giving me a whole ass lecture about being polite and shit. God, let me just follow her outside and request her to come back and try to be as nice as I can to her, fuck.
I massaged my temples and sighed while getting up from my warm chair.
"So? you fucked this up and now you're leaving?" Four eyes spat her stupid.. I don't even know what to call it? maybe assumption? the hell!
"Yeah no, you idiot, I wanna ask her to come here so we can fix this up." I responded to correct her.
"Woah! Impressive Levi! Proud of you, yeah go get your girl"
"Hange what did you just say? You're trying to say that these two are together!?" Erwin asked her.
For some reason, a very odd type of pain shot my stomach. The pain was... gentle? how is this possible? Is it even considered pain at this point? I don't understand, but it felt warm, no let me rephrase it. Heat! yes heat and some tingles in my stomach.
"Oh my god! Erwin this is an actual enough proof! Look at him! he's flustered AWAH POOR BABY LEVI!!!!"
"SHUT UP BOTH OF YOU! WHAT THE FUCK FOUR EYES? AND TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION ERWIN, NOO? WE ARE NOT TOGETHER?" I snapped. After few seconds I calmed down and cleared my throat.
"Tch, you both stay here, I'll come back in a minute." I walked out of the door and saw the sight of her fading away since she was walking further and further.

Rose's POV:
I shouldn't have said that. I should've been feeling flattered that he trusts me with such a sensitive topic. I was fidgeting with my hands until I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around just to take a glance at the person.
My eyes met his, Levi's eyes.
I froze, well it wasn't the person I had expected. He approached me, we both stayed still waiting for the next move. He finally broke the silence, "Soo uh, I wanted to say that you are.... um.. you were um, you were right! yeah" He posed for a second. "I should've been more respectful" he turned his gaze down.
"Well maybe I was right but, wrong timing, I should've said that in a condition that allows me to complain. Actually I feel quite flattered that you trusted me enough to um.. be there and listen to you opening up" I started at him. He's so beautiful, no.
Charming.
"So, do you want to go back with me?" He asked.

"Yeah!" I responded. we started walking back, he was so close to me, his hand was literally brushing against mine.
