I crossed my arms with a smile and told Vi that I'd stay with her since she had all the information I needed.
I think I can actually trust her.
Finding Jinx shouldn't be as hard as I thought because Vi is her sister, and I think I'll be able to follow easily. But the only downfall on that sort of information is that Vi has been in jail for almost her entire life span.
"Cmon, cupcake, let's go." Vi called to me.
Wait, cupcake? Cupcake?!
"I'm coming." I followed her around Zaun, keeping close just in case. We went down an alley way, and looked around all the places and buildings.
"So.. do you know why exactly you got sent to jail? There must be a story that falls behind your actions, Vi."
"Erm.. not really." Vi said.
"Then.. why did you get sent to jail?.." I asked again. She had a look on her face as if she wasn't sure, but knew the answer.
"It's a long story."
"I like long stories." I told her, crossing my arms with a serious expression.
"You're serious about me telling you, huh, cupcake?"
"Stop calling me cupcake. It's Caitlyn."
Vi covered her mouth and laughed under her breath. I rolled my eyes and couldn't help but do the same.
[Don't worry, it's not the end of the chapter, just scroll down.]
Would mother approve of you?..
That was a worry that stuck in the back of my mind for a while.
Mother never approved of anything, really. She never approved of Jayce, or.. me wanting to work at the council with her when I grow up..
The words she had to tell everyone were.. not what I expected. My stories were
not her stories to tell.It was a pain in the ass, really.
Not to sound rude or disrespectful, I'm just trying to share how I feel over a cup of tea, I suppose.
Not everything has to be perfect..
Me and Vi eventually pulled ourselves onto the top of Zaun. We looked over the large city, and she leaned against me, asking for me to tell her about myself.
"Oh. Alright.. well, I was born in Piltover, raised by my mother and my father, they never got a divorce.
An issue happened a long time ago with robbers breaking into my friends apartment building.. His name was Jayce. My mother said not to worry about him
too much anymore, but we still see each other
daily."I cleared my throat.
"The apartment building crashing had our family in a lot of debt at the time, but I was too young to really know what debt meant. I couldn't help as much as I wanted to.. Though, what I did help out with was keeping our family together. I wanted to make sure everything our family did kept us strong, and able to proceed in our opportunities."
...
"It changed my mother a lot. She's an entirely different person now, other from my mother that I used to know.""I didn't go through a lot of trauma, but I do remember a lot of issues happening with our family, to the point that it was been bad."
"I was never really abused in my childhood, but more likely, the impact of my mother being so harsh on me was a lot. I didn't like it.
I learned to use a shot gun, such as this one, and got a gun licence at a very young age. The shotgun I use is very challenged though."
"That's all." I said, putting my shotgun beside me, looking at Vi. "Tell me about yourself. I want to know. Why were you in jail? Tell me the story."
"Woah, jumping right into conclusions, cupcake? Alright, I'll tell you."
"As long as you promise me not to tell any of your enforcer friends."
I sighed and smiled. "As if."
Vi shrugged and began telling me about what happened and how she got arrested.
The first words I heard her say were Powder.
Powder was.. Jinx.
"I got arrested for my sisters actions. A long time ago, there was an issue, where Silco had taken my father.. Vander, to a hideout where they beat my father and hurt him. Me, a few dimwits of mine, were going to get him back.
It didn't end well.""Powder.. Uhm.. Powder had a monkey bomb and there were these little blue crystals.. and she put one in the bomb and it.." Vi, adjusting her hands, shows a boom with her hands.
"Exploded. Obviously, I'm sure she didn't mean to, she made that clear. Very, very clear later on.."
Vi glanced away from me, and turned her head back moments later.
"I went to jail under the arrest of people thinking I was a bad person.. and that I caused everything Powder caused. She was young.. And I didn't want people to take their revenge out on a eight year old, so.. I took the blame and went to jail myself.
Sounds stupid, but.. I did it to keep her safe."
I guess all Vi really cared about was Powder.. or, Jinx. But.. did she know what had happened to her?
"Wow.. that's a lot for you to take in..."
The arrest that was made was a false arrest? Meaning.. Violet did it for her sister, so that Jinx wouldn't be the one to go to 'Jail?..'
"But— wait, I thought the arrest was a forced arrest."
"I mean, I guess you could put it that way. But I saw it as.. how I could just take the blame for my sister.. Y'know?"
I guess I did know. But I wanted to know why.. I understand the blame part..
"Vi, how much do you care about .. Powder?"
"A lot, we did grow up together, and I did hurt her feelings a lot.. so I guess.. I cared about her a lot. I'm not sure exactly where she is, but she must be alive if you guys are worrying about her."
"You should begin worrying about her."
