Darcy
It had been an hour or so after Johnny left and still no Dally. That means either something bad happened or something good happened between him and Kelly.
Ponyboy was outside, and Two-Bit had to leave when Sodapop showed up to get him.I stayed inside until I heard muffles of cry's outside and I wondered what or who it was coming from.
It came from Ponyboy, and he had his face buried in his legs."Hey Ponyboy," I calmly said and ran to his side to hug him.
"Why am I not good enough Darcy? Why are my parents dead? Why? Why? Damnit why!" He asked yelling over and over again.
"You are enough, Ponyboy. Don't put yourself down and don't let others tell you otherwise. It was just your parents time and yes trust me I wish they could be here too" I said.
"No I'm not good enough and I know I'm not. Darry doesn't even care for me!" He cried and cried.
"Don't ever say that ever, he does care about you and sometimes he can't really show it good, but I know he does" I said again. His crying stopped and it was just him sniffing up some of the snot that drooped down his nose.
"Maybe you're right, and thank you again Darcy I know I'm a crybaby," He said.
"No Ponyboy, you're never a crybaby," I said.We finally got up from the porch and went inside. We never told anyone about why Ponyboy was crying that day, and I know he never wanted me to bring it up ever so I didn't. Dally got home a few minutes after and he looked happy as ever.
"We got carried away on a tiny date, she said yes," He smiled. I hugged him in congratulations and after that we just sat on the couch on our lazy asses all day.
Two days later
The last two days were sort of a blur to me, nothing exciting and nothing fun happened. Just hung out with the gang and did our regular diner days again.
Johnny and I were sitting out on this pier that surrounded this beautiful gorgeous pond near the woods of Barkfield Road, which was the road you take if you want to get out of Tulsa.
Johnny brought me here to admire the beauty, and he told me his life story about how his grandma would take him here as a little boy to get away from his parents. Then he told me about how after she passed he couldn't come here anymore, but he wanted to bring me here because I was someone special in his life. We kissed a few times and I took off all my clothes and jumped into the pond.
Johnny did the same and as he jumped in, his splash had splashed me right in the face. It was cool, and the hot summer day made it better. We played around a couple of times and definitely splashed each other in the face too. I cant remember the last time I ever had a good laugh. Maybe when my parents were around and I was twelve and Dally was in his stupid pre teenage years.
One of Johnny's cousins let him borrow his car, which Johnny was a pretty good driver. So was I because I wanted to drive us home. After a few minutes of driving we made it back to town and pulled into the lot.
Sodapop, Ponyboy, Steve, and Dally all were there drinking a beer and probably talking about stupid boy stuff.
"Nice car you got there Johnny!" Yelled Steve.
"Oh no man this is just my cousins, he's letting me borrow it for a few days until after the movies" Johnny shrugs. It is a beautiful car once you think about it, and take a good look too.We all got bored easily and walked to mine and Dally's house as Johnny drove to his own house. Ever since the whole wrist incident we've been cautious on where we walked but I can't blame anyone. We weren't scared, well I was, but neither of the boys were scared and we knew they were going to pick up a fight at the movies, which is tomorrow.
I chose out my outfit right as we got home. It was getting dark out since Johnny and I didn't get to the lot until around eight o' clock. And I knew I was tired because after picking out my outfit I plopped onto my bed and instantly fell asleep.
