THOMAS AND YELENA, through Ada's help, continued on with their secret meetings. Both enjoyed the time spent together, always eager, almost glutenous for more. They simply enjoyed each other's company, as they sat in the Thorne's living room, talking for hours. Their meetings would become more and more frequent, sometimes nearing a daily basis, not that they minded. Well, Ada did, but watching the two slowly fall for each other was worth it.
Eventually, Alfie released the leash he held on Yelena and the two could meet in London outside of Ada's home, although in neutral territory and with meticulous caution. They were careful. Thomas, despite being tight-lipped about his secret meetings with Alfie, mentioned that something big was about to happen; it's full extent unknown to the woman.
Yelena remained in the dark until Alfie summoned her to the bakery. Such an occurrence happened rarely, usually the woman just went where she pleased, when she pleased. She ignored her urge to rebel against his wishes and made her way to the bakery, not wanting to be on the receiving end of her brother's anger once more.
The woman rose a brow at the busy bakery; the place was crawling with Brummies. With a loud sigh, she made her way into the building ignoring the stares and whistles she received from the men in the peaky hats. Alfie's men shoved the perpetrators behind the lewd acts, in warning. Yelena ignored the disruption as she strode to her brother's office, walking past the line of awaiting men.
"You've summoned me, oh wise one?" She said as she entered the room, her brother's annoyed glare landed on her as she interrupted him. The woman paused in her steps, drifting from Alfie - who handed a confused looking Brummie at the woman's appearance, a piece of paper - to the man that stood behind him smoking. She suppressed a smile. Thomas.
"Shut it, doll," Her brother replied, oblivious to the longing gazes between his sister and his business partner. He sent away the underling, awaiting for another to step into his office, and shot his little sister a look. "Have a seat, it won't be too long, yeah."
With a huff the woman plucked a newspaper from Ollie's stretched out hand. Clearly, they were awaiting her presence. After plucking a pen off of her brother's desk, she sat her ass down in a chair at Alfie's side, opening the paper to the puzzle page.
"Ollie, darling, get me some white bread, would you? Pretty please." The woman asked sweetly. Ollie nodded, rushing out of the room to fulfill the woman's wishes. She propped her heeled feet at the edge of the desk, Alfie wasting no time in shoving them off his workspace. "Rude."
"Occupation?" Alfie went on, asking the many men who all gave the same answer: Baker. He sent them on their way. As Alfie was distracted with the men walking in and out of his office, Yelena shot Thomas a look, peaking from the top of her open paper. The man's blue eyes were already trained upon her. She blushed lightly, looking back down at the words on the paper before trailing back up to meet the man's gaze. She shot him a wink, quickly diverting her attention back down when Ollie returned with her drink.
