A nice take on the phantom thief theme! Enjoy!
(also, I like to think Kokichi's alias to Shuichi and DICE is 'Ko')

"You can't say it isn't true Shuichi!" Ko snickered. Shuichi glared down at the floor in his shame. How could he let this happen? Tricked for like-the 100th time?

His nose scrunched in anger while Ko continued to chat like they were old buddies randomly running into each other. He spewed out randoms lies about his life like it was nothing.

"...shut up..." Shuichi grumbled, his eyebrows furrowed downwards. Ko immediately stopped his sentence and quirked his eyebrow.

"Why how rude detective. Did your uncle never teach you proper manners? Don't interrupt someone like that". The burning fire of anger only got bigger the moment Ko brought up his uncle. "Oh wait," he laughed, "I guess he must've died a little early in your life or was too busy to even bat an eye~"

"Ko! Enough!" Shuichi snapped, bringing his head up to look up at the masked liar. A smirk painted its way onto Ko's face. He liked the frustration he saw written on Shuichi's face.

"Eh? And what are you gonna do if I don't? Break through those handcuffs and choke me to death? Sounds a bit too kinky for my taste," he snickered, bending down only a little to get closer to the detective.

Shuichi frowned and snapped his head away. Ko's smirk faded slightly. "Don't be like that," Ko snarled, gripping Shuichi's tie. He pulled the detective towards him, squatting to sit on his calves. The unexpected pull caused Shuichi to look back. He attempted to scoot back to create distance between him and Ko. It didn't work as his back crashed against the wall.

"Ko, wait-!" he gasped, feeling Ko's threatening aura. He felt a tension built rapidly, as his throat began to close.

"Don't try to be sassy with your king. You got that? I hate sore losers."

"You brought up my uncle, psycho!" Shuichi snapped back, his voice deep and dripping with anger.

"It's not my fault he couldn't do his job right," Ko giggled, "I thought he was the world-class detective. And you are supposed to be the next. But look at you~, handcuffed by me~, the phantom king of all!"

"Shut up!" Shuichi shouted, retracting his foot before kicking it out. Right on target. He kicked Ko in the stomach, pushing him away.

Ko gasped out for a breath before breathlessly laughing, "Alright, alright, my bad..."

"If it takes a kick to get you to shut up, then I should practice being a soccer player..." Shuichi scoffed, fighting the burning in his nose. It hurt being reminded of his uncle. He was a great man that didn't deserve to die so early. As for his nephew to be such a disappointment...deep down, Shuichi was so hurt was because Ko was right.

"So interesting~," Ko cooed, crawling back to the deflated detective. "Don't tell me, you only chase me for your uncle..." he pouted.

"..." Shuichi sighed. The end of the sigh turned into a pained groan, "...I wish it was that..."

"When you finally best me, you have no idea how I'll feel," Ko trailed his hand up Shuichi's arm.

"I'm guessing you'll be bummed. All your 'fun' will stop," he rolled his eyes.

"I mean, sure. But I'm tied between being proud of you or falling in love with you~"
