'OH, STOP IT, SIRIUS!' Walburga scolded at her oldest son

'OH, STOP IT, SIRIUS!' Walburga scolded at her oldest son.

he was making funny faces towards his younger brother, resulting in him trying to muffle the chuckles he wanted to let out so badly.

'oh cmon mother, have some sense of humour!' Sirius let out a laugh, which quickly faded.

his mother shooting daggers at him, 'we are at a church, and a church you should respect. what you're doing now isn't respectful!'

'would God be okay with you hitting your children? i don't think that's respectful.'

Sirius kept the thought to himself, nonetheless stopping.

'yes mother.'

Walburga nodded and continued her walk towards the front doors of the church.

Sirius and Regulus walked behind; Sirius wrapping an arm around Regulus' shoulder.

'she's a bit stuck up, isn't she?' Regulus commented.

'you've barely noticed?'

the two shared a smile, knowing what would be next if they were to laugh again.

unwrapping the arm from the younger, patting his back, 'mind telling mum i've gone to the loo? really don't want to stay for the beginning of this.'

Regulus gave a faint nod and walked away from his brother, inside the church.

SIRIUS LEANED AGAINST the wall behind the church, peacefully smoking a cigarette between his lips.

he'd been gone for at least twenty minutes, and hasn't been searched for yet.
which was an answer from God, he would think.

even though, he was an atheist.

it was hard to really stick to his beliefs at times, he did live in a Christian house hold after all.

nonetheless he did identify his beliefs as an atheist.
but only God, if out there, knew what his parents would do if they found it out.

Sirius' train of thoughts suddenly crashed when he heard a leaf crunch.

he looked around beside him when feeling a presence.
seeing a boy to be there.

'oh, sorry. didn't know someone else was here.'

the boy was tall, taller than Sirius by a bit.
he had this nice shade of color in his hair that vibrated with the sun gleaming at it.
he had these scars across his face, that seemed to be a faded pink; indicating they've been there for a while now.

'no worries.'

the two awkwardly starred off into the distant bushes ahead of them when they didn't know what else to say.

'uhm— i'm Remus. Remus Lupin.'

'pretty name.'

'i'm Sirius, Sirius Black.'

the boy, now known as Remus, raised an eyebrow when Sirius had announced his last name.

'Black? as in, the royal family 'Black'?

'bingo, love.'

and that was it.

Sirius had completely embarrassed himself!

the other turned a beet red before nodding, 'i'm sorry for such a question, but aren't the Black family known for— uh..,' Remus didn't know how to word the question.
he had barely met the boy, but after all he is a Black.
wouldn't he be just as bad at the rest of the family?

'known for ruining lives? harm? even homicide, the few? yes. they are,' Sirius raised the cigarette back to his lips, inhaling the smoke.

Remus watched Black carefully.
and he didn't know if that was because he thought the boy might pull something, or because it looked really attractive from his view.

as Sirius blew the smoke out, watching it disappear in the air, he turned back to the taller.

'they're known for more than the three things i've named. there's just too much on the list to cover in one conversation,' simply, Sirius said it simply.

'you say 'they' as if you aren't one yourself. you are a Black, aren't you? hense your last name.'

Sirius gave a faint smirk, 'you sure ask a bunch of questions, Remus. do you like learning things, Remus?'

the way he let his name roll of his tongue made Remus go a pink tint in the face.

apparently, Sirius had recovered from the nickname earlier and decided he'd let out his confidence.

'learning new things about the world? yes. about people? yes. but about the useless? no.'

'sit with me,' Sirius slid down on the floor as he said it, waiting for a response.

a smile planted on Remus' face as he sat beside, what he thought to be, was his new friend.
