Bruno x reader: Adoption

I don't even remember that day, but Papa tells me it was the happiest day of his life.

I was young, like really young at the adoption center. Apparently my parents were killed.

I was practically the cutest baby though. Or that's what Papa says. He saw me with my h/c and bright e/c eyes. He knew at that moment he was going to take me home.
I wasn't biologically related to any of the Madrigals, but they still tried with the ceremony. It wasn't public or anything.

I remember touching the candle then going up to a door. It was a normal one. Guess Casita didn't predict me. Nothing happened so me being curious opened the door. It was the same. I honestly kinda wanted a gift, but Papa says gifts can be a gift to others, but a curse to yourself. He told me stories about cousin Dolores and Isabela along with himself. I instantly changed my mind.

The people of Encanto never really questioned when Papa and I would walk around town. I did look similar to him in some ways. Or everyone just heard about it so they knew I was adopted.

It was a good life. Papa gave me the love he never gotten. He treated me like a princess. Cousin Dolores told me some of Papa's history and it explained why he acted in such a manner.

He never got the love he deserved. People were either happy with his predictions or they were angry. Most of them were angry. He always felt like he didn't belong and that no one needed him so he left and hid among the walls of Casita.

As I grew older, he still loved me like the wonderful father he was. When Abuela got mad at me, he was the one to defend me. I didn't understand her, didn't like her to be honest. Yeah, the love of her life was killed right in front of her, but shouldn't she be more sympathetic towards others? Papa always told me to leave her alone.

We watched the rats on the... I can't remember it, but right now Adri is in love with Leo and Leo is in love with her, but Valeria is obsessed with him so she tried to sabatoge everything. She almost killed Adri. The season left off with Valeria and Adri going missing. I have a suspicion that Adri went and killed Valeria like the good girl Adri is, but Papa says he thinks that Valeria kidnapped Adri. It's getting VERY intense.

Papa will take me out to go pick flowers then I stick them in people's hair or in random places. I once put all of the flowers in Camilo's hair when he was asleep. He got so mad at Isabela. Papa said I had to apologize to both of them. Camilo got a kick out of it, but Isabela wasn't very happy...

Life was hard for Papa, but I still love him. And that will stay like that forever. No prophecy could ever bring us apart.
