"what the fuck, alex," lavinia slammed the book alex was reading shut. he hesitantly looked up at her.

"what. the. fuck. alex." she repeated. alex remained silent.

"alex," she said, fustration bubbling in her voice, "explain to me why you did what you did at the party."

"no," alex said plainly, hiding the fact he was scared out of his mind right now. lavinia sat down in her seat, mind racing for answers.

the teacher was out today, and there was a substatute, though, he didn't care. he just sat on his phone and said, "do- art stuff. i don't really care."

the two couples in the class were making out, and every so offen a kid would say, "you should do that too, like at the party."

lavinia would glare at them and respond, "i just don't back down from a dare."

alex kept silent, either starring at his phone or reading a book. lavinia was scrolling through tiktok as she come across a certain one. it was of alex, but it called him quackity and it was a thirst edit.

she giggled slightly to herself, saving the video before scrolling. blackmail. yeah. blackmail.

another quackity thirst edit pops up, this time alex notices.

"oh no-" alex gasps quietly. lavinia saves it and mumbles loud enough for only alex to hear, "blackmail."

"oh come on, lavinia," he tugs at her shoulder. she giggles, "what?"

"delete the video!" he begs. lavinia shakes her head, "you wish, boy."

he nods, "i do wish. i do wish you would delete that!"

the girl shakes her head, "nope! i need the blackmail."

"then i'll find blackmail for you," he sighs, opening tiktok himself, making lavinia cackle, "you won't find any on social media."

"you sure?"

"yep..." she trails off, scrolling more through tiktok. alex rolls his eyes and opens his book again, trying to ignore the fact that he had caught feelings for the girl sitting next to him.

-end of the school day-

lavinia took her backpack out of her locker, mind still racing for why alex had did it. why he had kissed her when not dared to. not forced to. sure, she may not have hated it, but it was still confusing.

all her thoughts trailed back to one, though.

he likes me.

but it has so many flaws, he can't have liked her from a few kisses (and one makeout session-) and multiple schools worth of rivalry.

he hated her! this is just plain wrong! but... was it so wrong? she read so many enimies to lovers books, one exactly like alex and her.

did she want her life to be an enimies to lovers book? well, yes. yes she did. and it felt like her life was going the way she wanted.

though, she felt that if she ever dated alex, his side would just hate her more. they wouldn't trust her. and it would be hard for her.

"lavinia!" she heard a familiar male voice, but she turned away instantly and walked away out of the school. she did not want to talk to him right now.
