Scarlett maneuvered through the crowd. Ollie didn't follow, he just stood awkwardly in front of the door. "I'll be right back... stay right here" Scarlett said before departing.
Ollie sighed and leaned against the door, covering his stomach with his folded arms. He was starting to feel insecure. He wasn't in front of his mirror anymore. He was being looked at by these people. It didn't seem real, but it didn't seem fake either. Even though they weren't looking at him he could somehow still feel their glazed over eyes gawking and burning right through his skin.
Once Scarlett returned with her drink he was already ready to leave. "Let's dance," Scarlett said, holding her drink out. She took Ollie by the hand, he was hesitant to let her take him. "Ollie... we didn't drive all the way here to stand around," she said as they began to make their way through the crowd. The music was loud and seemed to shake the whole interior, it felt as if the floor was going to cave straight into the basement. They made their way to the dance floor, bobbing and swaying to the music. Scarlett began to dance, Ollie was still in a state of haze and uncertainty. Scarlett started to sway with him to try and loosen him up. Suddenly a wave of chills came over Ollie. A Piercing feeling just at the nape of his neck. Scarlett spinned and then twirled around, turning Ollie around with her. Across the room, just over Scarlett's shoulder he saw a man staring directly at him. He was older than everybody there, though you wouldn't know it at first glance. His age was in his eyes.
Ollie looked away swiftly. "That guy's staring at me," he tried to say to Scarlett over the loud music. "What? Sorry I can't hear you!" She yelled back over the music. "Never mind," Ollie mumbled. Just then, a scream could be heard over the music. It sounded intense and full of fear. Suddenly a girl knocked Scarlett over, causing her to spill her drink all over Ollie. "What the fuck!" Scarlett yelped as she grabbed onto Ollie's arm. Then they saw it. 2 Men fighting on the ground. Ollie scanned the room for the mysterious man, he was nowhere to be found. The situation was quite easy to figure out. The girl who knocked Scarlett was the girlfriend of one of the boys in the rumble; the other boy must have just been at fault somehow. "Let's go!" Scarlett screamed, snapping Ollie back to reality. The room seemed to spin into chaos, the room wasn't built to house such foolery. Scarlette dragged them both through the crowd of screaming teens. They burst through the front door out onto the porch. They made their way to the car swiftly. "Jesus what the fuck was that?!" Scarlett yelled. "A fight."
"Yeah well no shit!" She started, pulling on the car door handle. The car was locked. "Fuck- the keys are still inside- wait right here!" She began to jog back to the house. Everything was happening so fast, Ollie didn't even see the shadowed figure watching him from across the street.
