She wasn't doing it for the money, she was doing it because she actually wanted to. She wouldn't realize this until later though. Her body felt weightless as she stepped off the thin railing and into the air. Gravity took hold quickly as she fell feet first into the rushing water. She hit her head on an ice chunk floating down the stream. It was frigid, there was nothing to hold onto except dear life. She couldn't breathe. In a matter of moments she was sure she was gone.
Ollie was the first to respond. He ran to the railing and down at the water. He then ran to the other side of the bridge where the river flowed. He peered over the railing, an object could be seen floating up th stream. "I found her!" The rest of the boys ran down to the river side to see if they could catch her.
"Over there!"
"Do you see her!?"
"No!"
"She's right there!"
"It's pitch black down here!"
One of them got their phones out and flashed the flash light at the water. Her body could be seen floating lifelessly in the water. Ollie ran to them at the river side.
"I got her!" One of them said as they dived in after her. Ollie watched as they grabbed her by the waste and trudged back to the bank. Ollie couldn't help but look away. What the hell was going on with Scarlett? She was barely alive. She shivered and quacked once they put her on the ice cold ground. One of the members took his jacket off and put it around her. "Is she okay?" Ollie asked.
Scarlett put her thumb up faintly. One of the members tilted her head to reveal the bleeding gash on the side of it. "Oh- She needs medical attention right now."
"There's a first aid kit in her car," Ollie perked up. Ollie began to walk back to the car when he noticed he was being followed. "She's gonna be okay," The man said. He was stalky, 16-17 years old. "That first aid kit isn't gonna do anything." He said as he walked even closer towards him. "We can't go to the hospital- her mom would flip." Ollie said back. "Well I don't see any other option-" the man walked past Ollie. He was the one checking him out at the party. He couldn't tell if he was hitting on him or actually trying to be sincere. "Where are you going?" Ollie asked, following the man up to the bridge. "Home- I gotta curfew and I can't be mixed up in all this shit." He walked over to his bike. The members began to bring Scarlett up to the bridge. The man started his engine. "She's not okay to drive," One of the members said. They put her in the back seat and closed the door. The car was still running. I can drive her to the hospital," the leader said. Ollie made his way over to the back seat, he opened the door. "Scarlett- do you want me to come with you?" She turned her head no, and wiggled out a few words. "Ollie... Just go home." Ollie didn't know what to make of these final words before her departure, only that he felt betrayed. She had neglected his pleads and undermined his love and support for her. Ollie shut the door as the leader got in the driver's seat. Ollie backed away and watched as the car drove away. The only motorcycle left was that of the mystery man. "Need a ride?!" The man yelled. Without saying a word Ollie ran to the man and got on the back of his bike. "Hold on," The man said as he revved the engine and started off down the road. Ollie held onto his chest. It was firm and inviting. Riding a motorcycle in the cold weather was not pleasant to put it nicely. The man didn't know where Ollie lived, but he was going the right way so that was all that mattered. His body warmth gave Ollie a thrill, it almost made him forget what had happened just moments ago.
The man made a sharp turn into the small playground parking lot in the middle of his neighborhood and the one behind him. The man got off of the motorcycle. "I actually live in the neighborhood just over there-" Ollie said as he got off. "Oh- well I just thought we could enjoy this moment." He was a total cliche. Ollie thought it was that he was part of a greaser style gang and also gay. "What's your name again?" Ollie asked. The man walked over into the large field near the parking lot. "Mitchell- my friends call me Mitch," Mitch walked further into the field, Ollie began to follow. Mitchell got his phone out and began to play music, the song One in a million by Aaliyah. Ollie laughed and jogged over to him. He was charming. "Care for a dance?" Mitch asked with a grin. "I didn't take you as an Aaliyah fan." Ollie grinned and put his hand in Mitches. Mitch swung Ollie in and tripped him onto the ground. They both laughed hysterically. Mitches' eyes locked with his until suddenly they met in the middle. Mitch got on top of Ollie and kissed him passionately. Ollie didn't know what to make of it. *Just go with the flow* His mind told him. Ollie pushed Mitch off of him, sending Mitch onto his back, Ollie climbed on top of him. It was almost as if an animal were running through his veins. He had never felt this way before. I guess it was easier with people he didn't know. He kissed Mitch hard, he didn't want to treat him like Peter, in fact he had completely forgotten about him as a whole. Ollie leaned back on Mitchells legs and pulled his shirt off over his head. Ollie reached for Mitch's belt buckle when out of nowhere Mitch sat up. "Look," he whispered. He pointed at the woods in the distance. A faint light could be seen within the bushes. The small light seemed to be getting closer and closer until suddenly it wasn't in the woods anymore; it was a shadowy figure moving towards them. "Shit!" Mitch said as he pushed Ollie off of him. Ollie hit the ground hard, he looked behind him to see the figure running straight at them. Ollie stumbled to his feet. He hadn't even noticed that it had started to rain and sleet at the same time. Mitch was already starting his bike. "Hey! You Asshole!" Ollie screamed as he grabbed his shirt off the ground and began running towards the bike. Mitch backed out and started full speed out of the parking lot. "Fucker!" Ollie screamed as he realized the figure was moving closer at a fast rate. Ollie knew where he was, he was close to home. He ran to the bridge that connected his neighborhood to the park. The man was slowing down behind him. The grass was crisp with the crunch of newly frozen ice and now the sound of rain falling on it. Ollie sprinted across the bridge and didn't look back until he was in front of his house. He looked behind him only to find the street empty. He didn't wait around to see if he was actually alone, he climbed through his window, and never looked back.
