They lounged around for the remainder of the day. Ollie sat on the rough shag carpeting on his phone, it was almost dead. Scarlett laughed and talked with Peter on and on- she was a blabber mouth when stoned. "Really? Wow, that's really interesting..." She giggled and slouched her back onto the couch. Ollie rolled his eyes. It was going on 5:00. "Do you have a charger?" Ollie asked Peter. "Uh- yeah but the one out here is broken- I should have one in my room." He said, also slouching his back onto the couch. "Thanks-"
Ollie got up and started down the hall. He opened the first first door at the end of the hall. His house layout was almost identical to Ollies. He opened the door, it was dark, just like the rest of the house. He felt the wall for a light switch, he found it and flicked it on, nothing happened. The only light was that of a medium size aquarium across from his small twin size bed. He walked slowly to the bed, letting his eyes adjust to the darkness. He saw the cord on the ground, he bent down and followed it to the back corner behind his bed frame, he couldn't reach the plug. He felt around, his feet were about to give. He toppled over, knocking into the nightstand. "Shit," he whispered.
"Is everything okay back there?" Peter asked from the living room. "Yeah!" Ollie exclaimed back. He began to pick up the things that had fallen off the desk, a glare of light caught his eye. A condom, still in the wrapper laid on the ground next to the aquarium. He picked it up and examined it for any evidence of usage.
"What's taking so long! We wanna go get food!" Scarlett yelled. He quickly pocketed the condom, bent over under the bed and pulled the charger out of the socket. "Ollie!" Scarlett yelled.
"I'm coming!" Ollie yelled back as he made his way back down the hall to the living room. "Come on were gonna get something to eat at Burger Palace..." Scarlett said, walking up to Ollie.
"But I still need to charge my phone-"
"Charge it in the car," Scarlett said as she followed Peter to the door. "Great," Ollie said as he rolled his eyes and reluctantly followed.
On the road, Scarlett had no filter, nor did she know when to stop talking. She was being strange. Fluctuating her emotions from one to the next so easily. Ollie knew the answer to it all. Men.
"We're gonna meet up with the guys if that's okay-" Peter said.
"Yeah- definitely" Scarlett smiled.
A knot turned in Ollie's stomach. Flashes of Mitch crossed his mind. Him being left to his own devices with the police in the rain was definitely a leading factor to his nausea. Or maybe it was...
"Pull over!" Ollie yelled. There was no time to put his stomach in context.
"What? What's wrong?" Scarlett asked.
"I think I'm gonna be sick."
Peter pulled the car over to the side of the road.
Peter watched from the driver's seat as he belched and then threw up in a bush. "Jesus," Peter said. Scarlett patted Ollie on the back to make sure it was all out. She left his side and went back to the car.
"Maybe we should take him home-" Peter said.
"No- he'll be okay- just car sickness."
Ollie spit out the lingering taste of vomit and made his way back to the car.
The car ride was silent from that point on. It took him throwing up to finally bring Scarlett back down to Earth.
Burger Palace was dead. Minus Peter's minions loitering out front. The knot returned, the pit in his stomach moved to his throat. They approached the pack. "Howdy boys!" Peter exclaimed. Mitch sat on top of the bike rack railing. Ollie looked at him, he looked away. Mitch hadn't even noticed he was there.------------------------
They lounged around Peter's car as they munched on their burger and fries. The heat was on full blast in order to keep everybody warm. Ollie laid down in the back seat, hoping Mitch hadn't noticed him. Scarlett poked her head through the window. "You should eat something-" She said as she elongated a handful of fries. Ollie shook his head no. "Well you should at least drink something- you've lost a lot of fluids." She said in her best motherly tone. "I just want to rest," Ollie grumbled. It was true, he was tired. Each day seemed to melt into one. Each night came a new experience, a new party, a new revelation. By the looks of it tonight wasn't going to be any different.
------------------------
They arrived at the party, there was something different about this one. Everybody looked older, and dirtier. Everybody had a glazed over look in their eyes, this wasn't news though, the ones with bloodshot eyes were. It was the epitome of dazed and confused. It was a large farmhouse with a wrap around porch and farm like interior. They made their way through the crowd, seamlessly breaking off on their own. Scarlett took Peter by the hand as he led her astray from Ollie. His nerves were shot, being in the midst of such chaos and insanity, he had to do something to take the edge off. He stumbled through the raving crowd. The kitchen counter was littered with trash, beer cans, a cup of beer with a french fry in it.
"So what'll it be?" A man said to him.
Ollie looked up from the counter to see the only young, attractive man in the entire house, besides himself of course. "What do you drink?" The man asked. "I don't-" He started. "Don't drink? Come on- you look like you'd like something- something sweet..." He grabbed a bottle of peach Schnapps. "Try this," he said, handing him the bottle. Ollie tipped it back reluctantly. He squenched his face. "Good right?"
"Yeah you could say that!" Ollie yelled back over the music.
Although he hated the taste, he took another swig. That other swig turned into 3 then 4- and so on and so on.
Scarlett sat on Peter's lap on the couch. They laughed and passed around a joint, filling the room with a haze like mist. "Lets go to the car-" Peter said in Scarletts eat. "We aren't leaving are we?" She questioned. "No-" he said. She looked away, and then turned back to look at him. "Sure," they got up and maneuvered through the crowd. The night was still young. The never ending day had blended into the never ending night of endless possabilities.
