9. Handsome

The cold was gradually turning into a fever. Jungkook hasn't had a cold in a long time. But whenever he got one, his mother was always nearby and took care of it.
Even if he wants to go to the hospital right now, he cannot drive in this condition. So he must seek out the assistance of the elder, which he will never do in his fevered imagination.

That's when Jungkook's door clicked open. Tae stood there, stone faced. He discovered the younger curled up in a blanket. He was shivering and sweating at the same time.
Taehyung deduced that the other has a fever. His ego was telling him not to ask or say anything...but Taehyung being Taehyung

"You appear to have a fever. Let's go to the hospital before things get worse."

"No, I'm fine on my own. You should just mind your own business "In a croaky voice, Jungkook said

"There's no need to be a douche, okay?
Except for you, I am the only one in this house. What will I tell your parents if something awful happens to you? That I stood by and watched him suffer? Nah uh...I am not you, Jungkook "Tae stated harshly

"Leave me alone, Taehyung, I don't want to pick a fight with you right now," Jungkook said, tilting his head to the left.

"Okay, good. Whatever bratty.
But, if things go south don't hesitate to call me, I'm here "Tae stated

Taehyung was reading a book in his room. But his thoughts kept returning to what his mother-in-law had said. Yes, he was concerned. What if something goes wrong? What if he did nothing at all?. He promised yami he'd keep an eye on the younger.
But he can't stand his stubborn ass.

Jungkook's condition was worsening by the minute. He despised it all, not being able to seek help from anyone.
He could feel every muscle in his body weakening, and he now had an itchy throat, which was not helping at all. He can feel the fever overpowering him. His head ached like hell. He tried to sleep by closing his eyes, but he couldn't.

And his door was opened again without a knock. Tae was standing nearby with a bowl of water and a towel.
Jungkook sensed something was about to happen.Younger opened his mouth to speak.

"Jungkook, if you say anything rude, I will kick your ass.So, please allow me to help you. I will have to tie your hands otherwise "Tae stated sternly.

"Do you believe you have the ability to kick me?You are messing with the wrong guy, Taehyung "Jungkook feigned laughter.

"Enough with the nonsense." Tae set the towel and the bowl on the table.And put his hand on the younger's brow. Jungkook quickly turned his head sideways when Taehyung's hands touched his brow.

"Fuck, you are burning." Tae said worriedly

Jungkook didn't say anything. Afterall the elder was right, he was indeed burning.

"I'm not trying to befriend you or anything, Jungkook. But, if you were in my shoes, wouldn't you have done the same thing? Get it into your head that we are all living under the same damn roof. We're just two random strangers. And it will continue to be the same after this. But allow me to help you. By allowing your ego to win, you are failing your body."

Jungkook did not object and instead closed his eyes. Tae carefully dipped the towel in cold water and pressed it against his burning forehead. The CEO flinched at the sudden chill. He winced and shut his eyes again. He wiped his brow. Tae stood up and went to the kitchen, only to return with a tray containing food and medications.

"Jungkook, drink this soup and take this medicine. It will bring your fever down."

Jungkook took the soup bowl with caution and began to eat. In the meantime, the other was checking his emails and messages. The younger finished the soup and placed it back on the tray. Tae handed him a towel to wipe his mouth.

"Rest, I'm leaving; if you need anything, please call me. I'm only a few steps away"Tae picked up the tray and walked away.

Taehyung felt relieved after feeding the younger. But it was getting dark, and what his mother-in-law had said about his asthma was still fresh in his mind.

Tae was sleeping soundly when his alarm went off in the middle of the night. Yes, he set an alarm to check on the other.
He yawned and moved slowly towards the younger's room. He didn't want to disturb the other's slumber. So he carefully opened the door without making any noise.

But, oh boy!!! He was wrong. He opened to see a sight that he didn't expect. Jungkook was panting heavily, as if he was out of breath. His eyes were teary, his mouth was open, and his face was flushed. His right hand was above his chest.
Tae dashed to the closet and rummaged through Jungkook's suitcase, where he discovered an inhaler and a pill. He hurried over to the other, sat next to him, and placed the inhaler in his mouth.

"Come on, Jungkook, breathe.Take slow, deep breaths... yeah, breathe."

The CEO clutched the inhaler as though his life depended on it. And he was following the other male's instructions.
Tae grabbed a glass of water and forced the other to swallow that pill.

Jungkook was struggling to breathe , but not as heavily as before. Taehyung paused for a moment before placing his hand on the younger's back and gently caressing it up and down. He became drowsy as a result of the pill. He could feel his eyes closing.

Taehyung noticed the younger inching on his shoulder and taking slow breaths after a few minutes.

"Thank God," Tae said subtly as he carefully placed the other male's head on the pillow. He drew up the duvet and tucked the younger in.
Taehyung saw a tear fall from Jungkook's closed left eye. So he gently wiped that tear away with his finger on the other's cheek.
This was the first time taehyung got to look at the ceo's face so close.
He took a serious notice...and he sighed

"Too handsome face for a rude person"

tae said in disbelief and slightly tapped the tip of younger's nose with his index finger.

Tae was not wrong for assuming jungkook as a rude person. The words he heard from him were that bitter.
Little did he know, he was married to a person who has a golden heart.
Tae still don't have a clue about the younger's personality.

Time will show us everything. Everything we try to bury inside us ....
