Rika was still in a dazed and confused state. She could hardly sit up straight on the couch. Hell, she could hardly work up the energy to blink after the emotional rollercoaster of this morning. Or perhaps it was night? This pristine white mansion (As it seemed to Rika) had no windows or clocks. She would check her phone, but it didn't get isekai'd with her. Even assuming that it did, there's no way it would've survived the fall.
Now that she mentioned it, how did she survive the fall? She squinted her tired eyes in confusion.
"Say, Miku..." Rika started in a quiet and raspy voice, "How come that fall didn't kill me?"
Miku swiveled around her chair in the kitchen to face Rika. She looked up at the ceiling in thought, then shrugged her shoulders.
"Beats me," She said, turning her chair back around and setting her elbows on the kitchen island. There, Meiko was working diligently.
After Rika was introduced to the rest of the Virtual Singers, she, as you can imagine, conked out. Meiko took pity on her and decided to make some coffee, it hopes that it might keep her awake.
"You think it would be difficult to get Gumi here, Luka?" Miku asked.
"I don't think she would refuse if you gave her a call. Why do you ask?" Luka answered, never once looking up from her tablet. Rika couldn't see her screen, but it was obvious she was playing Candy Crush.
"I figured she might be able to give us some insight as to what this is all about," She called back, motioning to Rika. Meiko began pouring hot liquid from a kettle into several different mugs. Meiko handed Miku her cup, and Miku thanked her in return. It wasn't difficult to see that this particular mug was in the shape of Mikudayo's head.
"Before you say anything," Miku began, lifting up a finger, "This was a gift. I didn't buy it."
Meiko walked over to the living room and handed drinks to Rika, Luka, and Kaito, who was intently watching the giant television.
"What's on right now?" Meiko asked, standing beside the couch and taking a sip of her coffee.
"The antique channel. They've got these glass chickens in baskets for hundreds of dollars. It's really intriguing stuff," Kaito's eyes were glued to the screen, mesmerized by the chickens. Luka scrunched up her nose in disgust. In the other room, Miku put her ugly mug in the sink and stretched.
"Alright," She sighed, approaching the rest of the group, "I'll call Gumi."
Miku lifted her hand into the air, then swiped down, summoning a glowing interface. As Miku started tapping away, Rika noticed Kaito squint and lean forward, as if he couldn't quite understand what was on the TV.
"Hey, guys," Kaito leaned back again, "If Crypton had anything new coming out, we would know about it, right?"
"Of course we would, it would probably about one of us anyway," Luka replied nonchalantly. Kaito pointed, shifting everyone's focus to the screen. There, there was a spinning Crypton logo, and a red banner that ran across the bottom that read, 'HUGE CRYPTON ANNOUNCEMENT! EVERYONE AT CRYPTON KNOWS ABOUT IT. IF YOU DON'T THEN I GUESS YOU'RE JUST NOT COOL ENOUGH."
"Hey!" Rin shouted at the television, "What's that mean?"
The Crypton logo faded away and revealed a man on screen in a suit hopping around excitedly.
"Hey, you!" He said, directing his question at the audience, "Do you like girls? Hell yeah! Do you like the color pink?! If you say no, you're probably lying! And I already know you like Vocaloid-" The man froze. His face became pale and sweat started to form on this forehead.
"V-Virtual Singer... Virtual Singer I said! Please, Crypton! Oh god no! Please!-"
The feed cut out to static as everyone looked on in shock. After a while, the picture was returned, but the man was swapped out for an entirely different person.
"Sorry about that, folks! That last reporter was... Terminated," The replacement reporter said. His expression became dark, so dark it could send a shiver down your spine.
"Anyway! We're here today because Crypton has unveiled a new character! Ooh! Aah! They didn't kidnapped anyone against their will by the way! Their name is Rika! Wow! Amazing!"
The entire room went dead silent. Rika?! What?! The twins spat their drinks out all over the kitchen counter.
"You didn't tell us about this!" Miku screeched.
"I had no idea! I wasn't told about this! All I did was read a creepy e-mail!" She replied, just as shocked as everyone else. She wanted sleep! Just sleep! She didn't sign up to be a product! The man on the television continued.
"We actually have some interesting backstory for Rika! As it turns out, she was born with (h/c) hair, (e/c) orbs, and her favorite color is (f/c)! She was always bullied in school for being quirky and not like other girls. She was wearing this (pic below XD)"
