She rang the doorbell and exhaled to calm herself down. Elaine saw Kaya trough the window walking across the kitchen and in her direction.

Her best friend opened the door and gasped, as she saw the tears in Elaine's eyes, she probably looked like somebody died.

"I'm sick", Kaya said as Elaine walked a step forward.

"I don't care if I'm gonna get sick, I have to talk to you", she said and pushed past Kaya, walking upstairs to her room.

"What the hell happened?", Kaya asked running after her.

Elaine sat down on her bed and knocked next to her to make Kaya sit down too.

"Okay, I don't know what you're gonna think and I'm probably exaggerating but this whole thing is so, fuck it's so akward", she wimpered and tried to hold the tears back to run over her face.

"Elaine, relax", Kaya said and grabbed her hand. "Tell me, I swear I'm not gonna judge you."

So Elaine told her everything, starting with her first met with Mitch at the party, and how he took care of her purse, and ending with his fight with Ethan. Kaya didn't interrupt her once, but Elaine saw the words piling up inside her the more she told her.

"What do you think?", she finally said and wiped over her face. "You have a tissue?", she asked right after and laughed.

"Fuck I hate crying", she said and it sounded weird that she laughed while talking in this whiny voice.

"Here", Kaya said and gave her one. "Can I talk now?", she asked carefully and Elaine laughed again.

"Go ahead, I don't even know anymore what to think about it, please tell me I wasn't a bitch."

"One day without me and everything gets out of control, huh?", she joked. "No seriously Elaine I don't know what that guy thinks he is. You had every right to react like that, he acted as if you're a little helpless child and he's your bodyguard-"

"Don't say bodyguard", Elaine interrupted her. "Ethan said that too", she added and rolled her eyes.

"Speaking of Ethan, he's an asshole, that's for sure, but I don't get why some random guy gets in trouble for you on his first day", Kaya said and bit on her lip while thinking about it.

"He's probably already suspended", Elaine shrugged her shoulders.

"He better is", Kaya said.

"What annoys me the most is that he seemed so reserved, and then takes the right to fuck up my whole relationship with Ethan. Not relationship, you know what I mean, I managed to stay out of his way for almost a year, and this guy comes around and now I probably have a bigger problem, than while our relationship."

"Don't think so pessimistic", Kaya said. "He's probably so traumatized he won't even look in your direction anymore."

"Believe me he for sure is traumatized", Elaine agreed. "I've never seen him like that, I'm not even saying he didn't deserve it, but even if, that would've been my part and not Mitch's."

"So what are we gonna do now?", Elaine asked.

"Nothing. You're gonna pretend nothing happened and don't you dare speak to any of them", her best friend said in a tone that allowed no contradiction.

"You're not gonna go to school tomorrow, right?", Elaine asked hopefully even if she already knew the answer. Kaya's sick voice and the three cups of tea on her table gave it away.

"No I'm not but you could stay home too until I'm healthy again so you don't have to go alone", she suggested.

"No, no I can't, I know if I don't go tomorrow, my anxiety will not get better. I have to prove myself that I can handle this. As you said, I'm just gonna ignore both of them, problem solved", she said and tried more to convince herself than her best friend.
