Chapter 16: Liar

A few weeks passed. Edd and Matt remained in the cell. Suffering. They were starving, and upset. Feeling betrayed by Tords devious actions.

They knew it was their death day. Edds eyes slowly looked over at a clock that was ticking down.

Tord placed this sick timer a few weeks ago. It counted the seconds, minutes, hours, and even days before the day.

It read
1 hour. 20 mins. 22 seconds. Remaining.

Edd teared up as he weakly laid his head on Matt's shoulder.
"Well Matty..were gonna die soon."
Matt hugged Edd close.
"It.. was nice while it lasted right?"
Edd nodded slowly.

Suddenly the two heard a door open and they quickly looked over.

Seeing Tord.

"Gah, hello Edward. Matthew. How goes it? Well?"

They didn't respond.

Tord chuckled. "And if you're wondering where Tom is, he's at the medical ward. Getting bandages removed."

That shot up Edd's overprotective side.
"What did you to do him?!" Edd raises his voice a little.

"Oh relax. Relax. I didn't do anything. Well, kinda. Hurt his nose. But that's not the point– right now, we are focused on our little visit. Not where my boyfriend's at."
He replied with a snarl.

Edd gripped at the cells bars. "Tord.. you need to let us go."

"Oh? Why would I?"
Tord smirked.

Matt remained quiet, only holding Edd close by the waist.

"Tord, we are your friends. All those memories.. do they mean nothing to you? What about me forgiving you when you asked for our forgiveness? When you felt guilty about your robot..but this? This is far worse. You're going to regret doing this Tord. Please, please let us go.." Edd's voice cracks as he lowered his head, starting to cry.

Tord felt his heart ache slightly, but he shakes his head.
"–No Edd, I have to do this. It's my dream, I have to."

Edd widened his eyes. "Murdering your friends and conquering the world? That's a dream?.."

Tord suddenly lowered his head. He started to realize how cruel this was. The guards slightly looked over at there leader with concern.

"W-well er.." Tord stuttered out, trying to think about what he had to say.

Edd sighed. "I'm disappointed in you Tord, I can't believe you're like this.. I miss my friend, not a maniac."

That made Tord snap. He slammed his hands on the bars. Causing the green hooded brit to jump back in surprise.

"I'm not crazy Edd! I'm doing what's right! For me! For the world, Edd!  This world is a horrible place! I HAVE TO FIX IT!" Tord shouted as he broke down in tears. Not caring if he showed weakness anymore at the moment.

Edd shouted back. "BUT KILLING YOUR FRIENDS ISN'T GOING TO FIX THE WORLD!"

Then, silence.

The tension in the air was heavy.
Tord let out a quiet sob as he gripped the cell bars.  Edd watched with anger and disappointment, as Matt sniffled quietly in the corner.

"You'll turn against me.. I can't trust you, I can't trust not anybody." Tord cried out, lifting his head. "I have to, I have to kill you off, I have to push you away... I'm sorry."

Edd sighed. "Tord, I'm saying this army of yours is wrong. It causes pain to yourself and others."

"–No, Edd. It doesn't. This is my army. And I plan on making the world better, once it's all mine." Tords lips quivered as he sniffled.

"Besides, I have clones of you now." His voice and emotions immediately shut off. Emotionless.

That caused Edd and Matt's faces to go shocked.

"And it'll be like you never died, right?" Tord says as a tear rolls down his cheek.

Nobody responded.

"Heh. Guards let them out, it's time."
A timer went off.

Edd and Matt went wide eyed as the guards opened the cell. Instantly grabbing onto the two so they don't run away.

Tord wiped his face. His emotions have faded away. He was like an emotionless robot.

Edd and Matt squirmed a bit but then a gun was held to there heads.
"Squirm or I'll shoot you." A guard threatened.

"–Oh relax, Rae. I'll be the one shooting them." Tord says bluntly. "Tie them up, and take them to the auditorium there. You, Lai, go get Tom for me."

Lai saluted and walked off.

Rae gripped tighter on both of the squirming males. And took them away to the auditorium.

Tord sighed heavily as he shut off the ticking timer.

"I can't believe I'm actually about to do this.."
Tord mumbled to himself.
Then suddenly memories started flashing back in his mind.

Since they all first met, children, to highschool, too now.

Tord teared up. "I-i..I have to do this. The memories are here but the people are gone, i-it won't be too bad..right?".

Tord felt like crying. This was all his fault. He lied to Tom. So many times. He's killing off his friends,
All for his selfish actions.

The tears rolled down the leaders cheeks as he slowly left the dungeon. He quickly wiped them so nobody can see.

Suddenly the insanity thoughts consumed his brain. The voice. Which caused Tord to stop in his tracts. Boots remained still on the floor.
"hey knock knock! remember ? We have clones! So they won't really be dead. You have all the memories! The clones might not but who fucking cares? You have them. And Tom will love you forever. You can rule the world together with the love of your life!"

Tord slowly grinned. "Yes little voice, I suppose your right. Now, I have to get my memory gun."

"TORD!" Tom shouted as Lai was holding Tom back.

Tord looked over, a grin on his face. "Hallo min kjærlighet!"

Tom was crying, pissed off. Full of negative emotions.

"Tord, you.. YOU LIED! AGAIN!.. I can't handle this anymore.. and you're planning on, KILLING Edd and Matt?! WHY!"
Tom broke down crying.

Tords heart was aching. Like a knife or harpoon was harshly stabbed into it.

"Because, it's for our safety."
Tord softly responded. As Tom was yanked away to the auditorium.

"I HATE YOU COMMIE!" Tom screamed out as he squirmed against Lai, but eventually fading out and pulled to the auditoriums location in the base.

Tord shakes his head. "You don't hate me Thomas, you hate about what I'm gonna do. But it's okay. You won't remember..."He grinned slowly as he walked into the office.

He grabbed out the memory gun after harshly breaking the lock, not caring if he didn't use the key or not.

Then, he grabbed a simple black pistol.

Walking out he walked to the auditorium.

Edd and Matt were tied up on the stage, while Tom was tied up and held by multiple soldiers at the front of the seating.

Lai was sitting next to Tom, gun aimed at his head.

While Rae stood with their hands behind their back. Next to Edd and Matt.

Tord slowly stepped onto the stage.
Raising the gun up and looks at Tom.

"Let's begin the show, yeah?"
