Not just a phantom pilot

Supersonic beauty

On board the CVN-65 Enterprise, two guys were running towards their aircraft which was one of the best if not the best jet fighter of its time, the F-4 phantom. The two guys were Y/n L/n and his friend and RIO, James. Y/n and James have been friends since high school in grade 8. There was a time when Y/n's teacher asked him and james what kind of job they want for life Y/n immediately responded with

"United States navy pilot"

This didn't surprise the teacher as she have been teaching the class Y/n was in for almost 2 years, and she has seen Y/n have a true liking for aircraft. But james didn't want to be a pilot or a co pilot he didn't know yet what kind of job he wanted so he said nothing to the teacher

Somewhere in military school one of Y/n's trainer were picking a RIO for Y/n as he have been assigned to an F-4 which Y/n always dreamed of flying, then out of nowhere Y/n's trainer introduced him to his james. His old friend back in Highschool

Y/n:"james!?"

James:"what the hell? Y/n?"

Trainer:"do you two know each other?"

Y/n:"yes sir he's my classmates since we were in highschool"

Trainer:"i see. Well theres no time for hugging get in that plane and we'll start"

Y/n and james:"yes sir"

Flashback ends

In the present, on the skies over Vietnam we can see Y/n and james already up in the sky in their F-4E. They were hot in a tail of a Mig 21, Y/n was trying his best to stay behind the Mig and try to get a lock on

Y/n:"come on lock on come on phantom!"

Finally Y/n gets a lock on the mig

Y/n:"lock!"

Y/n pushed the button and an aim-9 ejects from the phantom's left wing and screams towards the mig 21, the Mig tried to dodge it but it was insufficient. The mig's engine was destroyed

Y/n:"HIT!"

The mig was absolutely destroyed. The wings came off and the pilot barely managed to bail out, the mig was sent crashing down into vietnam's coconut tree's while only the phantom's J79 engine is what remains

Back in the cockpit the duo were celebrating their third kill over vietnam

James:"nice one dude"

Y/n:"this our third kill right?"

James"got that right man, also one more and we can brag about it to our parents"

Y/n:"heh, my old man's got a lovely relationship with aircraft anyway. By the way got any more on the radar?"

James:"nah i don't think so, im seeing nothing here. Even if i did i don't think we have any missiles left"

Y/n:"well we got a vulcan"

James:"yea we never used it today but-"

Y/n:"who gunfights at supersonic speeds"

James:"by the way how much fuel do we have left?"
