"Dad," Shaurya's voice quivers with an unfamiliar pain, his eyes reflecting the turmoil within his soul. He reached out and pulled Shaan into a tight embrace, seeking solace in the familiar warmth of their bond.
Shaan tightened his arms around his son, enveloping him in a comforting hug. The familiar scent of shaan's cologne mingled with the faint aroma of jasmine from the flower vase on the nearby table, creating a soothing atmosphere that enveloped them both.
"Shaurya, shaant ho jaao beta," Shaan whispered softly, his voice felt like a gentle melody in the quiet room. He felt the tension in Shaurya's muscles gradually ease as he held him close.
"Maine kaha tha na, don't stress and blame yourself. Dekhna, Aastha ko thodi hi der me hosh aa jaayega " Shaan continued, his words like a soothing balm to Shaurya's troubled soul. "I know it's hard, but blaming yourself won't help, Shaurya. We have to be strong for her."
A faint smile tugs at Shaan's lips as he tries to lighten the mood. "Aur agar usne tumhe aise dekha toh vo mujhe hi daategi," he chuckles softly "vaise bhi jab tum dono aamne saamne hote ho toh jab ek ho jaate ho aur mujhe bhool hi jaate ho. Mai bechara akela raha jaata hu" he added dramatically, hoping to lift Shaurya's mood.
But Shaurya's face remained clouded with pain and guilt"Nahi dad, ab aisa kahan hai" he whispered, his voice heavy with regret."You were right. When my wife will come, I would drift away from Mom. Look now, my wife came and left, and I have drifted away from Mom, hurting her so much... that she's lying there like this..." He couldn't even complete his sentence before tears started to well up in his eyes. To hide them, he hugged Shaan more tightly, seeking solace in his father's embrace. His hands gripped Shaan's shirt, his body trembling slightly.
Shaan's heart ached for his son, his own eyes glistening with unshed tears. But for Shaurya, he composed himself and with a gentle touch, he lifted Shaurya's chin to meet his gaze.
"Shaurya, don't dwell on the negatives. Focus on the positives only" he said earnestly, his voice filled with love and reassurance.
"You haven't caused anyone any pain, Shaurya. Your mother understands you. She knows how much you love her and how deeply you're struggling right now."
"Sometimes, life takes us down paths where we find ourselves distanced from those we love the most."
Taking a deep breath, Shaan continued, his voice grew firm yet soothing, "Nothing will happen to Aastha. She's incredibly strong after all she is Shaurya Sabherwal's mother."
He paused to see Shaurya's reaction, but still there was no particular change in Shaurya's expressions. Hence, he again started to say "The playful bickering, the laughter, everything between you two will return for sure. Your mother knows how pure her ladoo's (ladoo is shaurya's nickname given by Aastha) heart is, and she will surely forgive you. The bond you both share is powerful enough to overcome this difficult time."
With a soft smile, Shaan added, "Just a little more time, Shaurya. Everything will be okay. You're willing to do anything for your mother, and she will never misunderstand your love for her. This dark night will pass, and soon, you both will live in that love and closeness once again."
