Next day,
In Mumbai
The soft rays of the morning sun filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle warmth over the room. Anokhi stirred awake, her eyes still puffy from the tears she had shed the night before. The ache of missing Shaurya still lingered in her heart, but there was also a sense of peace as if the tears had washed away some of the weight she had been carrying.
Turning to her left side, her gaze fell on Sushmita, who was still curled up next to her, breathing softly. The memory of their argument flashed in her mind but so did the moment they had made up. Anokhi felt a wave of love and protectiveness wash over her as she watched her daughter sleep.
"Sushi," she whispered, her voice soft yet filled with motherly love. She gently shook Sushmita's shoulder "It's time to wake up, sweetheart. You need to get ready for college."
Sushmita groaned and turning to Anokhi's side without seeing her face, hid herself in Anokhi's arms just like a small child, Anokhi smiled and wrapped her arms around sushmita, pressing a soft kiss on her forehead "My baccha"
"Now get up...we are getting late you know na today is a very big day...so now no more sleeping," Anokhi said, gently pulling away from Sushmita's tight hold.
"Mumma" Sushmita groaned.
"No more groaning....just get up...I am going for a bath and then will prepare breakfast. By the time I'm done, you'd better be ready—otherwise, I'll leave you here only that too alone.."Anokhi teased, standing up and ruffling Sushmita's hair affectionately.

Anokhi stood in the kitchen, her hands deftly working on breakfast while her mind drifted towards her college fest. She had the checklist pulled up on her phone, scanning through the various tasks she still needed to complete.
'Guest invitations, check. Decorations, half-done... Sound system, pending...'
She sighed softly, juggling so many things at once was never easy. But she couldn't deny the excitement that brewed within her at the thought of the fest and the events that are going to happen in it.
Just then, she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist, pulling her into a warm embrace from behind. A smile immediately crept onto her face as she recognized the familiar touch.
"Good morning, Maa," Sushmita's soft voice broke through her thoughts.
Anokhi turned her head slightly, her heart swelling with love. "Good morning, my baby," she replied, leaning back into Sushmita's embrace. "Go, get ready. I've already prepared breakfast, ab sirf coffee bachi hai which I'll prepare while you get ready."
Sushmita shook her head and tightened her grip for a moment, resting her chin on Anokhi's shoulder. "No need, Maa. Today, I'll make our coffee—Sushmita's special coffee!" she declared with a playful grin, before quickly planting a kiss on Anokhi's cheek and sprinting off.
Anokhi let out a soft laugh, shaking her head. "Jhalli ladki," she muttered with affection, her eyes following Sushmita as she dashed out of the kitchen.
