As the chief guest stepped out of the car, Anokhi's heart raced, a torrent of emotions surging through her. Memories she had buried long ago came rushing back, blending with the present in a dizzying whirl. She barely managed to catch her breath as she recognized the familiar figure—Dr. Vivek Malhotra.
He had been her guiding light when hope felt distant, his kindness a rare offering in the darkness of her past. And now, years later, the very man who had changed her life stood before her once again. Her heart swelled with gratitude, mixed with emotions she couldn't even name. Tears welled in her eyes as she looked at him, the man who had transformed her life in ways she'd never imagined.
"Sushmita," she whispered, her voice trembling as she turned to her daughter, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "It's him... It's him."
Sushmita looked at her, puzzled. "Maa, who are you talking about?"
Anokhi's voice was filled with awe. "Sushi Our chief guest It's him. Vivek Malhotra, the man who changed everything for me—a renowned social activist and motivational speaker."
Sushmita's eyes widened as she followed her mother's gaze, disbelief and awe dawning on her face. "Maa, are you sure...?" Anokhi nodded, still reeling from the shock.
As they made their way closer to him, a flood of memories washed over her, and she felt an overwhelming sense of nostalgia. She remembered their first meeting, his words of encouragement, and the unwavering support he had given her.
Their eyes met, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still. In that silent exchange, Anokhi found herself transported back to the past, reliving the moments that had shaped her into the woman she had become.
"Anokhi," he murmured, his voice barely audible over the crowd. "It's been too long..."
Anokhi felt her heart skip a beat at the warmth in his voice, like a melody she hadn't heard in years. "Sir..." she managed, her voice thick with emotion. "I never thought I'd see you again." Her eyes expressed everything she couldn't say aloud.
Dr. Malhotra's gaze softened. "It's good to see you," he said, his voice carrying a quiet sincerity.
Mr. Bansal, the HOD, stepped forward, noticing the familiarity between them. "Do you two know each other, Dr. Malhotra, Miss Bhalla?"
Anokhi nodded, smiling. "Yes, sir, we do."
"Then how come you didn't know about his arrival in the event" Mr.Bansal enquired curiously.
"Actually, Mr. Bansal, we were not in contact for a very long time...even I didn't know that she would be here," Dr. Malhotra replied.
"Oh, that means as a HOD, I should introduce you two as you don't know about each other for so long. So, meet Miss Anokhi Bhalla, our esteemed economics teacher. She's not only an exemplary educator but also a guiding light for our students, and Miss Bhalla you meet our Honored Chief guest Dr.Vivek Malhotra" Mr. Bansal introduced Anokhi to Dr.Malhotra with pride.
"It's a pleasure to meet you once again, Miss Bhalla," Dr. Malhotra said, formally extending his hand in greeting.
