Time was running out. The concert would be starting in 30 minutes, and Duane was waiting backstage to see whether or not Jimmy would show up or do the right thing and stay home. "Oh good...He's not here..." Duane sighed before turning around to get his guitar. Just as he opened up the case, Jimmy tapped him on the shoulder. "I thought....you were fired...." He said. Duane turned around to see Jimmy standing behind him, with the help of Clarice. "Dude. You look terrible!" He shouted before Clarice gave him a concerned glare. "I tried to reason with him...Believe me, I did. But he's determined to perform." Clarice sighed. Jimmy shoved Duane aside and prepared for the big concert.
Meanwhile, at the comedy club. MCGuirk and Shannon were backstage, watching all the other acts winning the audience over. "Oh, man. Those people are good." MCGuirk said. "Do you really think I could compete against that?" The coach then fixed his necktie and went over his script. "Well, since Brendon is a no-show. I'll give you his share of the money if you fail." Shannon offered. MCGuirk, however, stood his ground and was determined to wow the audience. "And now, for the final act of the night. He's a little new so please be friendly, please welcome Coach John MCGuirk. The soccer comic!" the PA system announced, prompting MCGuirk to hit the stage with the crowd cheering in excitement. As he began to start his routine (IE setting up a soccer goal and holding a matching soccer ball in hand). Shannon snuck behind a curtain to watch the reactions, because unlike MCGuirk, he could tell the difference between genuine enjoyment or plain boredom.
Back at the rock concert, the crowd was confused as to why Jimmy Monet was 3 minutes late to curtain call. "I've got a bad feeling about this...." Clarice whispered. Jimmy then stumbled onto the stage, looking even worse than he did earlier. His skin pale as a ghost, eyes bloodshot, and legs shaking like Jell-O. Audience members eyeballed his appearance and began to whisper to one another. Jimmy then began strumming on his electric guitar....rather poorly.... Duane watched from backstage, just to see how shit was gonna hit the fan. "Oh God....This is NOT gonna end well...." Duane muttered. People began to boo at our fellow rockstar. "S-Sorry, everyone. I...I..." Jimmy muttered before throwing up on stage, causing everyone to run off in disgust, and throwing things on stage. "JIMMY!" Clarice shouted before running onto the stage. She placed her hand on Jimmy's head. "Oh no, you're burning up... DUANE! GET OUT HERE!" Just then, Duane emerged from backstage to help his fallen enemy.
Coincidentally, MCGuirk's comic routine was unsurprisingly, failing miserably. Receiving boos from the audience. He thought he was done for....Until.... "Looks like we got a heckler on stage." Shannon said stepping onto the stage, holding a cane. "What? Uh....Sorry everyone. Anyways, back to-" MCGuirk said before being hit in the head with a slurpie. "HEY! WE WANT TO HEAR FROM THE CHICKEN NOSED KID!" a bystander shouted in the distance. "Step aside, fatso. Shannon the Cannon is about to take the stage." Shannon chuckled shoving past MCGuirk. The rest of the routine went well, with Shannon's success being a hit with the crowd.
At least one party had a successful night, now the next chapter will involve how our other friends are doing after the shitstorm that was Jimmy Monet's less than stellar performance...
