The day has finally come! I'm going back to school at last. Even though I'm a bit sad I can't help but feel happy rin cause sa wakas babalik na rin ako sa pag-aaral. Yes, I miss school. I miss writing down notes. I miss listening to the teachers discussion. I miss being a student!
Which I also found weird and new. But who cares?
Pag mayroon akong free time ay bibisitahin ko rin naman iyong mga bata. Which is also new cause I never bother myself on caring about other people not even with kids. I tilted my head. Maybe I kind of change? Well.. nagkibit-balikat na lamang ako. I like this change that's happening to me. So I don't mind.
I checked myself on my body size mirror. I tied my long black hair into a ponytail living the tip of it curled. What? I feel like curling the ends of my hair e'. Then inayos ko ang aking uniform. Gosh, I miss wearing this. Pagkatapos ko maglagay ng liptint sa aking lips ay sinuri ko pa one time ang aking kabuoan before smiling and walking out from my room.
Habang pababa ay napahinto naman ako when I saw someone walking out from our living room. Oh my god, what is he doing in here?
"Ean?"
Hindi ko mapigilan ang aking sarili na isipin iyong nangyari noong friday. Truth is I don't really know what's the score between us now. But he didn't have to tell me that he also likes me cause his action that afternoon was enough for me to figure out his feelings for me too.
So for now we're kind of MU. Aba! Aside from the fact that I don't want to assume. I don't want us to jump into the relationship thing rin agad no'! Hindi rin sa nagpapakipot ako but hellooo! I also want to experience the feeling of someone courting me. I also want us to take this thing going on between us properly serious.
But then who am I kidding? Betrothed na kami sa isa't-isa! That's our label right now.
"Uhm.. what are you doing in here?" Tanong ko nang tuluyan na akong nakababa.
He shrugged his shoulder. "Fetching you." His hands were tucked inside his pocket.
My forehead creased. I thought back to our old routine na kami. I totally didn't expect him to be here.
"But why? I mean I can go to school by myself you know.." I drawled.
"I just want to. Now, let's go we're going to be late." Tinalikuran na ako nito pagkatapos at nauna ng lumabas.
The drive was normal. Hindi naman malayo iyong school dito sa amin. It will only take 10 minutes before we arrive to school. Napatingin naman ako kay Ean na tahimik lamang nagdadrive.
"So how's school?" Pagsisimula ko sa usapan.
It's a good thing na rin to ask about school so that I'll be updated rin naman. I don't want to feel alienate pagdating namin roon.
"Nothing new. Still the same old Hargeaves." Sagot nito at hindi ko naman napigilan ang aking sarili na mapaikot ang aking mga mata.
"Come on, Ean. Wala bang upcoming activities? Programs?"
"Not that I know of." He glanced at me. "Well, midterm exam is upcoming."
I groaned upon hearing it. Great! I shouldn't have asked. Kakabalik ko pa nga lang sa school tapos exam na agad ang ibubungad sa akin? Who would want that, huh.
"Don't worry. Upcoming palang naman." Bawi ni Ean. Well, maybe he noticed my sour face.
For sure matinding pag-aaral na naman ang gagawin ko nito. I can't let my grades fall! It will affect my admission to any fashion school in Paris. Wala man sa itsura ko ang pagiging grade oriented believe it or not my grades are all 85 pataas. Hindi rin naman ako matalino so I can't really keep the 90 pataas thing unlike K.
Hmm... speaking of my friends. Excited na ako makasama sila ulit! I totally missed them. So much!
Pagdating namin sa school ay agad na akong bumaba sa kanyang sasakyan. The last time na tumunganga ako ay pinagbuksan niya ako ng pinto. And I can't have him doing that in front of other students.
It's enough to talk about me and Ean arriving together in school. If he'll open the door for me then I'm toast. The thought about us being friends will never cross into their minds.
"Romeeeeeee!"
I smiled widely upon hearing K's voice. Pagtingin ko dito ay tumatakbo itong papunta sa akin. Sa likod nito ay humahabol sa kanyang pagtakbo si Scarlet then sa likod pa nila ay sina Addison at Riley na naglalakad lamang.
"Namiss kita!" Sinalubong ako ng yakap ni K.
"Namiss ko rin ang aking nag-iisang pulubing kaibigan." I hugged her too pero mabilis lang iyon cause hellooo ang oa naman ng babaeng ito e' silang apat naman kasama ko kahapon at noong sabado.
"Welcome back, Rome! Nagpabake ako ng dalawang tupperware ng cookies kay Mommy. I'm giving the one tupperware to you!" Sabi ni Scarlet after hugging me. Napangiwi naman ako sa narinig.
I have enough cookies from the kids. Kawawa naman ngipin ko pag kakain na naman ako ulit.
"I didn't miss you seriously we just met and hang out yesterday, but welcome back!" Addison said with a grin on her face.
"Welcome back, Bully." Napatingin naman ako kay Riley when she said that and I rolled my eyes playfully.
Napatingin naman ang apat sa aking likod. Saka ko lang din naalala si Ean.
"Oh! Uhm.. Ean, friends ko si Addison, Riley and Scarlet. You already know Kaitlyn." Pakilala ko sa mga kaibigan ko. Hindi naman nakatakas sa akin ang pagtaas ng kilay ni Adee at ang makahulugang pagtitig nilang apat sa akin. I already know why.
The tone of my voice is so soft and tamed! Of course their gonna find it strange.
"And girls, si Ean." I smiled trying to erase the awkwardness I'm feeling.
Tumango lamang si Ean sa kanila at kanya-kanya namang bati ang aking mga kaibigan sa kanya with their usual greetings.
My friends are giving me these 'you-have-to-make-kwento-to-us-later' look. I bit my lips. Yes, they know that I like Ean but they also know that I hated him to the core. Now their confused as to why the heck I'm with him. This would be a long day.
