Chapter Two

Today is the first practice for quiz bowl. Apparently, we were supposed to study for it. I don't mean to brag but as a child prodigy, it was really easy.

Apparently it was really easy for everyone. I know Dex didn't study because we played video games most of the weekend while the girls went shopping and went swimming, practicing for thier next meet.

Anways, quiz bowl was really easy. We go until five. Everyday.

It's only everyday until Wednesday next week because that is our first competition against Exillium.

Another reason we are doing it is to see who the first four will be. At a competition, only four people can be in the competition. Everyone must come to cheer on you team or if someone gets eliminated from the competition.

Two hours of extracurricular is a lot on me. I don't really like social interaction. The most social interactment I have is with Dex, Lihn, and Marella everyday. Luckily, today's was done.

Once practice was over, I went home to do my homework. It was actually really hard because I had to type up a paper but I am not a very fast typer. It is probably one of my greatest academic challenges.

When I got done with my homework, I grabbed some food, wanting to go play some games online with Dex but of course when I walked into the kitchen, there Lihn was. She was on the phone with someone. I suspected Marella because she is always on the phone talking to Marella. Plus she was talking about swim. Butterfly strokes or something? I support Lihn and all in her swim, I just don't like it.

Not that I don't like swimming. I like to joke around in a pool or something with my friends but I just don't understand the sport. When Lihn starts going on about swim, I just don't understand!

Once I was out of my daydream trance, I slipped past Lihn and grabbed some chips. They were of course healthy because that is what Lihn makes us get.

Then, Lihn said to Marella, "According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. It's wings are too small to lift its fat little body off the ground. But the bee, of course, flys anyway."

Marella responded, "I cannot stress this enough, What. The. Hell."

"Merella, do you know about the bee movie?"

"The what?"

"Marella, I am forcing you to watch the bee movie with me tonight and you cannot stop me."

"But Lihn, we have swim tonight..."

"We don't anymore."

"We have a week until the big meet against Exillium. We have to go."

"If your that worried, we'll start now. Come to my house. You don't have a choice"

"Why not?"

"Ladies, is that a date?" I chipped in trying to embarrasse Lihn. It worked.

"Please stop. Anyways, you don't have a choice because it's a federal offense that you haven't seen the Bee Movie. Of course you don't have a choice."

"Fine. I am on my way..."

"You better be."

Lihn hung up after I slipped out of the room just to see Marella walk into the house.

I went upstairs to play video games with Dex. Dex wasn't on so I decided not to bother him and go play animal crossing.

I know that sounds really girly and childish, but it us very relaxing. Being really smart, there is always information floating around my head. Designing a island is fun with all that information.

I played that for about thirty minutes until Dex got on. When he got on, we play some Overwatch.

After an hour we realized we should probably be studying for quiz bowl because before we left Sophie and Keefe said that the questions would get harder from there. They also said there were some good study websites we could use.

The study time was really me quizzing Dex. I also taught him what he didn't know.

I gave him my memory trick. You write what you are studying to a tune you know. I told him to use a tune that is constantly replaying in his. He chose this song "We don't talk as about Bruno." I have no idea what that song was.

When Dex and I finished studying, I went downstairs to tell Lihn good night. When I got down there, I saw Marella and Lihn sleeping on the couch watching the Bee Movie. It was at the sad depressing part where they are in the plane, trying to save the world they destroyed.

Anyways, I put a blanket over them and went to go call Marellas mom. I don't like talking to her but I think she would like to know where her child is.

"Hi. Is this Ms. Redek?" I asked, hoping I had the right number.

"Yes. Who's asking? Are you one of her friends she is always talking about?"

"I hope ma'am. My name is Tam Song. I am calling about Marella because she is at my house with my sister Lihn because she wanted her to watch The Bee Movie. She fell asleep. Do you want me to wake her up or can I leave her be? I know it is a school night but I am sure the girls would like a sleepover." I don't like talking this much.

"That was spoken like a true young man. Of course I will let Marella sleepover. My house is on the way to the school if you walk, correct?"

" Yes ma'am. "

"Then, I will have her things ready to go and all she will have to do is pick them up and freshen up a bit. Will you two mind walking to school tommorw?"

"Not at all ma'am. We do it everyday with my other friend Dex. In fact, we walk right past your house."

"Why didn't Marella tell me!??! She could have been walking to school with you three?"

"If she wanted, yes."

"When she picks up her stuff tommorw, I am going to ask if she would like to do it everyday."

"Thank you ma'am for your time but I must be going. I am very tired and must be getting to bed."

"I think you are be a good influence on my daughter, young man. Thank you for that. Have a nice night."

She finally hung up! I couldn't stand it anymore, talking all fancy! My parents said that I must talk to adults like that because they have a reputation to uphold or something. I don't actually care but I know if something happens, my parents will find out and not be happy.

I walked upstairs and plopped on my bed, almost instantly falling asleep.
