Budding Friendship

RANBOO POV

I was honestly shocked they wanted to drive me home but I wasn't going to say no to sit on a bus with annoying, screaming freshman who think they're hot shit. I turned around and saw my mom giggling.

"Who was that?" She smiled, excited to see me hang out with someone new. I stuttered out "Y/N. I met them on the first day and they're new" I explained. To no fail, mom started to ask more and more questions about them and made me blush. Mostly from embarrassment, I swear!  Mom asked me what they're like and how they look. I only answered truthfully "they like Y/F/C and always wear it, they are nice to everyone, they are new to our town and I showed them around school the other day" Mom's smile grew wider and wider. I don't think she's ever heard me talk about anyone like that.

I finally got up to my room and set down my bag. I finally turned on my streaming equipment to start stream. This will get them off my mind! Hopefully...

Y/N POV

I got a notification when I got home and saw Ranboo went live. I sighed with relief and went inside to set up my multitasking routine. Laptop with Twitch up, homework on desk and headphones on. I unpaused the stream and started to work.

That microphone sounds new and.. a lot like the classmate that showed me around. I don't know why but that makes me.. kinda find him cute? What if it is my classmate and I'm just oblivious? Nah he'd tell me.. right??

THIRD PERSON

As the two watched each other on each side of the screen, they were happy. Ranboo was secretly hoping that Y/N was watching but would never admit it. Y/N was hoping he'd see their donations asking about his day and such. They always had a crush on Ranboo as a content creator but now that he's probably right in front of them, Y/N got nervous. They finished their homework and planned their outfit for tomorrow.

Ranboo on the other hand knew they were watching which made him think about Y/N more.  He kept trying to get his brain off of them by playing a logic game with Tubbo who suggested it.

RANBOO POV

I hummed with the background music and kept thinking. Thinking about the game which led to the question of if Y/N would like it leading back to Y/N. I shook my head to get back into the game "You okay there boss man?" Tubbo piped up

"Yeah, I'm okay. This puzzle is complicated" I lied, hoping Tubbo wouldn't notice but of course he did. I could tell that he could tell 100% but he'd keep that secret until after their streams.

After another hour of gaming, we both ended our  streams and kept on the call "So, boss man, whatcha been thinking about?" Tubbo asked and I was acting dumb "oh the game was-" Tubbo interrupted "no somethings up" I sighed "yeah.. it's nice Y/N hasn't put two and two together with us. I prefer to be looked at as a normal person for at least a small amount of time." Tubbo nodded and knew how I felt but did make the point of that we had to tell them soon.

Once we both went offline, Y/N texted

Y/N: hi! it's Y/N I hope your night has been okay!
Ranboo: hey y/n it's been alright. What have you been up to?
Y/N: i was watching my favorite streamer but they just ended so I'd thought I'd text :)
Ranboo: thanks I needed your number anyway. Who is your favorite streamer?
Y/N: oh RanbooLive. It's a crazy coincidence that it's your name too right?
Ranboo: about that
I started typing but I didn't want to drop this information over text. If I did they might screenshot it, share it and cause a mass panic online. I deleted it quickly
Ranboo: definitely a crazy coincidence

Y/N POV

I could tell something was off by the way his text bubble disappeared for a moment. I mean it was a crazy coincidence but..
Y/N: you okay?
Ranboo: yeah of course!
I could tell he wasn't but trying not to worry me which was nice of him but I'm not going to pry.
Y/N: okay but if it isn't, you can always talk to me :)
Ranboo: I know. Same goes for you Y/N

That's made me so fuzzy inside. That was an odd feeling. That only happened with crushes when they gave me a shred of human decency but this was stronger. I shook my head and took a deep breath to clear my mind but it didn't work of course.

THIRD PERSON

The next day, Y/N texted Ranboo if he wanted a ride and he agreed. He was excited to spend time with them again, trying to deny that feeling with the rest of his being. From the other side of the screen, Y/N was visibly excited! They wanted to talk to him about everything, nothing, his interests and their own interests which might come off a bit over eager or intense.

Y/N drove over to Ranboo's and saw him talking outside with his mom. They laid low and just parked in front of his house. Once his mom noticed, she got super excited and became quiet with a large smile. She followed Ranboo to their car and started talking once he opened the door

"Hi! Nice to meet you I'm Ranboo's mom! I've heard so much about you!" She smiled. Y/N looked at Ranboo with a smug smirk and then smiled innocently at his mom "Nice to meet you too! I hope it's all good!" Y/N scratched the back of their neck before Ranboo's mom nodded  "Oh definitely! Like how y-" "Well we gotta go to school! Don't want to be late!" Ranboo cut her off and shut the door quickly with a bright red complexion across his face. His mom nodded at the obvious hint and waved goodbye. Y/N spent the rest of the ride to school teasing Ranboo about his embarrassment
