Sorry, this chapter is a bit short, I've got some killer writers block.

Ever's POV

"We're going out for diner, if you'd like to join us," I smiled at Damien. He thought for a moment, scratching his stubble covered face as if wondering if he was truly welcome.

"I guess it can't hurt," He shrugged. I stopped on Rie's foot to silence his groan of protest and he looped his arm through mine, more to show ownership then to be sweet. So, to show my disapproval of his behavior, I dropped his arm and strode ahead to walk with Jack, causing both Rie and Damien to frown.

"Your release went really well," I smiled.

"Yeah," Jack grinned. "Better than I thought it would."

"You sure have some, uh, interesting fans," I laughed, recalling Rin's fangirl and Evie's fanboy.

"Tell me about it," He snorted. "I attracted some real nuts."

A parted ways with Jack and Damien followed after him while I trailed after Rie, who was still pouting. We got in the truck and followed Jack to the restaurant but the ride there was quiet and awkward. Neither myself nor Rie made any attempt at conversation so I just stared out the window. When we arrived at the high end restaurant, Rie leaned back in his seat and sighed, running a thin hand down his face.

"I'm sorry, " He frowned.

"You don't need to be," I sighed.

"I do! I've been acting like a possessive jerk. I know you can handle yourself."

"Thank you."

"My pleasure," Rie smiled and kissed my cheek. We followed after Jack, Damien close behind him, and sat down at our reserved table.

"This place is ridiculously amazing," Jack grinned as we all eyed our menus. I ended up agreeing to share with Rie since the portions were gigantic. Rie was to my left while Damien was on my right and I sighed as they glared at each other across the food. I kicked Rie under the table and he frowned, breaking eye contact with Damien and made light conversation with me instead.

"Plans for tomorrow?" He asked through a bite of the buttery rolls.

"I was thinking we should binge watch some British tv shows," I shrugged.

"Sounds good to me," He smiled. "We'll have to make Jack cook us some of his dangerously chocolate cookies."

"God, yes," I grinned.

"Who said I would?" Jack asked with a raise of his eyebrows.

"I did," I smirked.

"Fine," He sighed.

"Whipped," Rie interrupted with a fake cough. I held back a real cough, trying not to make scene with one of my episodes.

"Speak for yourself," Jack scoffed, "You're her boyfriend."

Rie rolled his eyes and put his hand on top of mine, which lie clutched on the tabletop. He felt my hand tense under his and gave me a weird look. I buried my face in the crook of his neck.

"Take me out of here," I whispered, still trying not to cough. Rie immediately pushed his seat away from the table and helped me up.

"What the?" I heard Jack call as we hurried into the parking lot. Once we were around back and there were no people, I crumpled to the ground, my knees hitting the payment hard enough to scrap them. I coughed violently, gasping for air and placed a hand on my back.
