Chapter 2

Lucy's Pov
I sat in the back of the cab feeling a little anxious. 'Its been a while since I last seen my auntie... What if she doesn't recognize me?' I think to myself as a small frown is placed on my lips. I play with my fingers as I see my aunt's house come into view. "Ma'am we are here at your destination." The cab man said as he looks back at me with a friendly smile. "Thank you Jim." I say handing him $40 and getting out of the cab. "No problem miss. Have a good day." Jim says as he gives me a small wave. I smile back grabbing my things and close the cab door. I wave back as I watch the cab drive off. I sigh as I look at the house my aunt used to live in when I was a child. "I hope she still lives here." I mumble to myself and make my way to the front door slowly. My feet seem almost stiff as my stomach ties itself in knots. "Why am I so nervous?" I quietly ask myself as I walk up the steps. As I stand in front of the big red door I breath in, closing my eyes for a second then open them. "Here goes nothing..." I say confidently and knock on the door 4 times. A few minutes later I hear the door unlocking and I suck in a breath unknowingly. As the door opens a mid aged woman who looks like me sticks her head out. "Yes?" Her soft voice says sounding unsure. I smile softly and tilt my head to the side. "Hi auntie Anna." I say softly and her eyes go wide as a few tears has now made their way to her eyes. "Lucy?" She asks. Her voice cracking and I nod. At that she opened the door wide stepping out. All of the sudden I'm being pulled into a tight hug. "Oh my sweet niece. You're finally back home." She cries out sounding relieved as she tightens her grip on me. I smile tears in my eyes as well as I hug her back burying my head in her shoulder. "I'm back." I whisper knowing she heard me. We hug each other for a few minutes then she pulled back from the hug. She got a good look at my face then gasp once she realizes my black eye. "Oh hunny. What happened to your face?" She asks softly and I look down in embarrassment. "It's a long story." I say quietly and she nods in understanding. "Come on. Let's get you settled in." She says softly and guides me into her house closing the door behind me. "Where have you been all this time?" She asks once I sit down on her soft white couch as she makes her way to the kitchen. I rub the back of my neck as I look around. "I was in New York. Dad wanted to move there to grow his business." I say and she nods. "Did you like it out there? I heard it was quite noisy and busy out there." She says as she comes back to the living room with 2 cups of tea. I nod in thanks as she hands me a cup and she sits down. "It was okay. It is very noisy and busy but it made it easier to get a job." I say taking a sip sighing in relaxation missing her freshly brewed tea. Her eyebrows connect slightly. "You were working? How old are you now? It's been so long." She says also taking a sip of her tea. I giggle. "Yes. I been working for a few years now. I'm 17." I say smiling at her setting the cup down on the coffee table turning to face her. Her eyes goes wide and she stops sipping her tea before recovering putting her cup down as well. "Wow. So much time has passed. You're so grown now. You look just like your mother." She says her voice laced with sadness as she said her last sentence. I smile sadly and nod. "Yes. It has been and thank you." I say softly. A silence has been created as we both thought back to the past when my mother was alive. A few minutes of silence has passed and my auntie finally snapped out of it. "So... What happened? You look like you got jumped." She says concerned and I look her in he to as big all loor eyes smilingly sadly once again. "Well....." I say starting off then I tell her everything that has happened for the past years. Once I'm done she is in tears and I'm just smiling sadly with pain in my eyes. "I'm so sorry hunny. I'm glad you decided to run away." She says breaking the hug we have been sharing half way through the conversation. "What are you planning to do now that your here?" She asks hopeful after her tears have dried and I smile. "Well I was planning on enrolling into school and finding a job. I was going to ask if I can live here until I find my own place close by." I say looking at her and she smiles happily giving me another hug. "You're more than welcome to stay here for however long you want sweetie. There is a school called fairy tail high just a few blocks away. I think you would love it." Auntie Anna says and I hug her back. "Thank you auntie. I'll check it out tomorrow." I say as we break the hug. "No problem dear." She says as she looks at me smiling as if thinking about something. Still holding onto my hands. She blinks and shakes her head. "I totally forgot. Let me show you to your room." She says standing up grabbing one of my duffle bags making her way upstairs. I follow behind her looking around. After we reach the top of the stairs she immediately turns right and stands in front of a door. "This will be your room. Sweety. Your more than welcome to decorate it however you'd like" auntie Anna says smiling as she opens the door and motions for me to go in so I do. Smiling as I walk past her. "Thank you." I say softly and she nods as she closes the door probably to give me some privacy. I look around the room smiling. Remembering how as a child I used to hide under the bed when my dad and mom said it was time to go home. I set my bags down and begin to unpack.
