Fairytale High (Laxus x Lucy)

Chapter 5

Lucy's Pov
Laxus, Freed and myself walk out of The principals office and make our way down the hall to the first class we all have together. As we walk together, I notice that we are getting alot of attention. I see some girls sending me death glares and I hear many whispers.
"Whoa she's not."
"I bet she's a whore."
"She's so gonna be mine."
"Why is she so close to Laxus-sama let alone why is he letting her be so close to him?"
"She's so dead."
I frown hearing the bystanders whisper and look down at my feet as we walk. I assume Laxus notices me being uncomfortable because he grabs my hand and stops walking, making me stop abruptly. "Laxus..?" I ask him quietly as I look up at him confused. "Come here kitten." He says softly as he picks me up. I hear gasps at this action but chose to ignore it. I quickly wrap my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist. When he sees that I'm settled he wraps me in his coat as he holds me up by my thighs. I'm now practically invisible to the outside world. "Don't listen to them Luce. They are just jealous and pervs." He says lowly and I peak out of his coat to see freed still walking next to us. I sigh and nod slightly. "Okay..." I whisper knowing Laxus still heard it. I lay my head on his chest as I let his sent overwhelm me. For some reason his sent makes me.... Comfortable. I feel safe around him. Although I shouldn't really be surprised because it's been like this ever since we were young. I guess it's just surprising to me because it's been a while since I felt safe. I smile slightly and snuggle into Laxus' chest. He grumbles holding me slightly tighter. "Don't worry kitten.... I'm here." He says quietly and I nod. "I know Laxus. Thank you." I say quietly and relax just enjoying the warmth and security.
Laxus' POV
I walk down the hall with Lucy in my arms. I smile softly as I feel her relax and nuzzle her head into my chest. I feel someone stare at me so I turn my head in the direction to the tension and I notice Freed looking at me from the corner of his eyes. A smug smile on his face. "You really hold her dear, don't you Laxus?" Freed asks and I grunt. "Of course I do." I grumble as I look ahead. I hear a slight giggle coming from in my arms and I chuckle. I grip her thighs slightly and her giggling stops. I assume she's blushing right now. I keep walking and we finally get to first period. As if on que the bell rings and we walk in. As we walk in everyone goes quiet and stops moving. I roll my eyes at this and put back on my glare as I glare at everyone I see who is looking at me. Freed and I go to the very back of the class room but sit in the middle of the last row. As I begin to sit down I hear someone clear their throat. "Excuse me Mr Dryer but can you put the young lady your holding down?" The teacher asks as she looks at me. I groan and turn so I'm facing the teacher. Irritation clearly shown on my face as I give her a bored, irritated glare. "And why should I?" I ask and she gives me a small glare. "Because that type of action is not allowed on school campus." She shoots back and my glare intensifies. "And what if I just ignore you?" I say as I challenge her. I notice she is starting to get very uncomfortable under my gaze as she is now getting really fidgety. "W-well then I'll..." She begins to say but I cut her off. "You'll what? Send me to the principals office? Give me detention? I'm the principals grandson. I can do whatever I want as long as I get good grades and don't cause a disturbance. From where I'm standing your taking your precious teaching time to sit here arguing with me. So if I'm correct your making a disturbance not me. Now if you don't mind I'm going to go sit down." I say glaring at her as if daring her to say anything else. Once she stays quiet I grunt then turn back around to sit down as I said I was going to do. I see Freed already sitting down as he shakes his head already knowing my attitude will still be the same. I sit down while still holding Lucy and I take out my notebook to write down the notes I need to do the homework later. After a while of taking notes I look down and see a pair of beautiful big brown honey eyes staring back at me. I smile slightly and I quickly see a blush begin to form on Lucy's cheeks. "You didn't have to do that you know... I could have sat down at a desk." She says quietly so only I can hear her. I shrug. "Yeah but I didn't wanna let you down, plus I figured you'd be more comfortable staying hidden rather than being out in the open where you'll be seen and receive unwanted attention." I say quietly and she thinks for a bit and nods. "Your right... Next time don't argue. Just let me down. I don't want you getting into unnecessary trouble." She says before laying her head on my chest. I chuckle slightly. "Always so caring." Is all I say before going back to taking down more notes not wanting to miss something important.
                  Time skip
The lunch bell has finally rung and I quickly get up and leave the classroom I'm currently in heading to the cafeteria. I look behind me and notice Freed following behind me. He nods to me in acknowledgment and I look forward again not wanting to bump into anyone as I still have Lucy in my arms. We quickly arrived at the cafeteria and I look down seeing Lucy finally wake up. "Hey sleepy head. Are you hungry? It's lunch time." I say and she nods rubbing her eyes. "Yes. I'm starving." She replies and I smile. "Okay but I need to let you down. I can't hold you while carrying both of our trays of food." I explain and to which she nods again in understanding. As we get in line I let her down and she quickly stretches while giving a big yawn. "Jeez your so comfortable and warm I feel like I slept the entire day." She mumbled probably to herself and I chuckle. "Thanks. I'm glad I make you comfortable and was able to help you get a good rest." I say walking behind her. I see a small blush start to form as she realizes she said that out loud. She doesn't make eye contact as she grabs the food that she wants and a drink. Freed and I do the same. I pay for our meal and make my way to our table in the back with Lucy and Freed by my side. As I sit down I look at Lucy and she looks at me confused. "Is something wrong Laxus?" She asks. Her voice soft and laced with concern. I smile slightly and shake my head. "No. Just come here." I say and she nods sitting on my lap already knowing what I want. I smile even more seeing how comfortable she is with me. I hear a chuckle so I turn my head to the side focusing my gaze from Lucy to the source of sound only to find it coming from freed. I give him a questioning look. "What?" I ask as Lucy eats looking around but I know she's listening. Freed simply shakes his head with a small smile on his face. "Nothing Laxus. Nothing at all." He says and I give him a weird look before looking back at Lucy.
