I woke up to an empty bed at the hotel. When I searched the room, he was no where to be found. I checked the little side room, and he wasn't there either. So I wondered around until I got bored and just went back to bed.
There's no way to know how much time passed, since I didn't check the clock when I woke up the first time, but when I sprung back to life again Donald was there. He was putting on his jacket. I watched as he looked at his phone with a neutral expression. It were as if he was waiting for a call or text that never happened.
As he turned he to look at me, his eyes shined a little in the light. More than normal, as if he were idolizing me. When our eyes met he softly smiled.
"Did you sleep well?" He asked.
"Yeah. Did you?"
"Yeah," he softly said, staring at me.
"Is something wrong?" I sat up and put my feet on the floor. A chill shot up my spine as I felt the cold wood against the bottom of my feet.
"No," his eyes darkened a little. If you weren't looking at him you wouldn't have noticed, but I did. I'm willing to bet it has to do with whoever he's waiting to text him.
"Hey, do you wanna go grab a bite to eat? Then we can go to that dinner thingy."
"Sure. Get dressed," as he finished talking his phone chimed. He looked at it and put his finger up at me. He placed the phone to his ear and spoke as I walked into the bathroom. "No. What do you mean by that, Kinglsey? Is she or is she not a threat?"
There was a moment of silence as I brushed my hair and then he spoke again.
"Fine. Have some men tail her. Send Jake and Wolf to take care of her two little lackies."
Another moment of silence was all it took for him to become enraged. You could hear it in his voice the next time he spoke.
"No. Do not allow her at the banquet. I don't care who her father is. She doesn't need to know about (Y/N)."
Wait what?
"Kingsley. I don't want to have to repeat myself to anyone. Get it done and make sure that Jake and Wolf understand to do this immediately. Let Jake know it's for (Y/N)'s safety. He'll drop what he's doing to protect her. Tell Wolf he'll get paid double."
I finished getting ready and stood there, with my ear against the door.
"Good. Thank you, Kinglsey. I'll talk to you later."
I assumed he hung up the call, but I didn't hear anything, besides a deep sigh after. Then suddenly the bathroom door opened and I stumbled forward a bit, having lost the main thing holding me up. Donald caught me and smirked down at me.
"What have I told you about listening in on my conversations? It's rude."
I sheepishly smiled. "Haha. Yeah. Sorry."
"It's okay. How much did you hear?"
"Um," I paused and took a deep breath. "Who is she? You've talked about her before with Kinglsey, but I want to know who she is."
"Don't worry about that. I'll tell you when the time is right."
"Okay," I looked at the floor.
"Ready?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, let's go," he put his hand on my waist and escorted me out of the room, locking it behind us.
As soon as we left the building I was pulled away from Donald and into someone else. I looked at his face and saw him glaring. Then I looked up to see Crash glaring right back.
