"How was your day?" Giovanna asked her husband who is beside her.
"It was alright except it seems like my sister, Jennifer and your brother seems to have formed a platonic relationship."
Jonathan answered with Giovanna already expecting the current friendship that is made by the families due to their marriage. "My lady, your mother has sent a hasty letter." Iris stated while Giovanna nodded getting the letter.
Dearest, your father is terminally ill. He has been bedridden since last night.
The physician has stated for your father's recovery would be impossible.
The letter ended hastily with her looking at the letter. Her mother used to always say, "To do such thing with rush will end in no laughter or smiles." She began to worry about her father.
"Is everything at well?" Jonathan asked unsure while Giovanna closed the letter.
"At some point of life, yes." She answered with not mentioning what is happening.
She stayed silent with only to see that the letter was issued two days while she headed to their chambers with no tears yet no smiles included as well. "What is wrong with you after reading that letter?" He asked while she shake her head.
"There is nothing wrong. How would you know if there is something wrong?" She replied.
"Because you wouldn't ask such questions like that even an open answer." He answered.
"It is called pretending, Jonathan. You should know that. Everyone pretends like their lives are perfect when it is not and it is only falling apart and much deeper in it's depths. You do not know that because your family is made with pure true love but mine is not. Living in the household made me a better pretender."
"Did we not promise honesty with one another the moment we were wedded?"
"Promises are meant broken, my lord. Not everyone is true at their words."
"But I am and I thought of you as someone that keeps their word. Honesty is needed in our marriage, my lady. It would be needed for this to last long enough." Jonathan shouted with Giovanna looking at him with no emotions in her eyes nor face.
"Honesty? Really?" She scoffed at him.
"Your parents marriage may be kept afloat by lies but mine did not." He replied.
