Eyes closed and still half asleep I reached out to my phone on my bedside table. Who would call her this early on weekend? It's only 6 am. Langya naman!
I only have 3 contacts in my phone - Tito Mau, Tita Jodi and Mae who are all very aware I hate phone calls and that I prefer to have everything discussed in person.

Hello? patay-diwa kong tanong habang nakapailalim pa ang mukha sa unan. I was awake till 3 am because of insomia and f*ck my head spins like hell. Same damn reason. Nakahiga pa rin ako sa kama habang kinukusot ang mata ko at sintido habang hinihintay ang sagot ng nasa kabilang linya.
Good Morning Jhoana Maraguinot! I raised my eyebrows after the girl mentioned my full name happily on the other line. I only groaned in response dahil antok na antok pa talaga ako. Bahala ka dyan.
Mygosh Jho! Don't tell me di mo pa rin sinisave ang number ko? Dismayadong sambit ni Kate sa kabilang linya nang hindi ako magsalita. I put her on loudspeaker para ituloy ang tulog ko. Lakas ng tama tatawagan ako ng maaga, ba't hindi si Mae ang istorbohin neto? Well aside kay Tito Mau and Mae, I didn't mentioned na nagkaroon ako ng kaibigan na hindi ko naman choice. Joke.
Mae introduced her girlfriend Kate 1 year ago during our family dinner. Tito and Tita invited me like the usual. It was 6 months when I moved out and rent my own apartment. Graduate naman na ako and I can live on my own. They supported me enough at kaya ko na ang sarili ko this time. Still, they never fail to make me feel I belong and I'm not alone - that I'm part of the family. And I'm thankful for that.
It was a year when Mae introduced Kate but they've been together for almost 3 years. Mae apologized for letting us know late, specially her parents. But Tito and Tita was cool about it and very supportive. Kahit na di ako expressive, I'm happy for them. Kate and Mae compliment each other. They say opposite attracts but these two are completely different, they have so much in common. Siguro nga ganun kapag inlove. You'll never know what's coming. I congratulate them pero syempre, di pa rin sila nakaligtas sa pagtataray ko dahil ang laking kahihiyan nang nangyari sa fansign event - because I found out that the poster was a present for Kate. She's an avid fan of ALE. Dream school niya daw ang Ateneo, pero dahil nasa Japan ang parents niya ay doon sya nagcollege. I thought madidisappoint pa nga sya dahil sa doodle, pero when I explained it was Deanna who did it aba mas kinilig pa ang gaga.
Speaking of that fansign event, jusko naalala ko nanaman. My mind was occupied at hindi ko maintindihan ang pinagsasabi ni Kate sa kabilang linya. Madami syang kinwento pero um-oo nalang ako. At di ko namalayan na nakatulog nanaman pala ako.

Naalimpungatan ako sa ingay ng kabinet na pulit ulit ang pagbukas sara. And to my surprise, may isang asungot na walang magawa sa buhay ang feel at home na nagkakalkal sa aparador ko.
