CHAPTER 6
So, where to Miss? I asked Jho, who is quietly sitting beside me after we fled from Maddie and Cole. Yes, I know the guy. We met a few times and first was at the PH Business Gala, an exclusive party for business tycoons in the Philippines way back 2020. A total rascal to describe with. For sure he recognized me because his father personally knows my Dad who is a business magnate in the industry. His parents tried to arranged meet ups with us together with other business personalities, but not worth it to tell.
We're a few minutes away past the boulevard but I still don't know where we should head to. Though I'm tracing the road back to the hotel where we both are staying, maybe Jho still have other things scheduled that's why I still ask. She said I'm her driver for today, guess I'm just doing my job right? The thought of her act a while ago made me smile again. Charming.
Jho is still not responding, eyes fixed outside and staring blankly to the road we passed by. She seemed overwhelmed with what she did. I admit, I was not expecting it too. I was amazed how she pulled that off smoothly. She surely has a lot of surprises in her.
It's more than 30 minutes we're driving and she didn't utter any words since we get into the car. I softly approached her as I tapped her shoulder with my right hand while my left is still on the steering wheel.
Jho?
2 piece chicken! she exclaimed.
I couldn't contain my laugh with what she said. I thought she's problematic of what happened, gosh this girl. It doesn't register to her right away why I'm laughing my ass off, then mouthed 'the f*ck' in silent when she realized.
Stop laughing or I'll kick you out of my car. she scowled at me while fixing her hair. Back to being maldita ulit.
Do you always daydream about food? hahaha I joked while still laughing. She glared at me one more time, like a child ready to bite me because I grabbed her candy.
Okay, I'll stop na. I replied and raised my other hand to surrender.
I didn't speak yet and return my eyes on the road, trying to wait for the right moment I can approach her. We passed by some restaurants on the way and I can see her gulped in my peripherals. I try to suppress my smile when she took glances to make sure I didn't see her yearn for food we saw from outside. Jho is obvious that she's trying her best to hide her hunger. However, her act didn't last long when her stomach speak for her. A loud growl from her tummy echoed in the car. Jho's face is all burned up when I turn around, so she hurriedly buried her face in her car seat.
