Unforeseen

The double panic

Goldie snaps his mask back on his face and books it to the forest, he nearly trips in the process. Luz is still stunned at the fact you heard the whole thing, and are BLUSHING. You get away from the window as fast as you can and hope Luz doesn't question you about it.

Thump thump thump thump

"You-he-blush-heard-mad... What?" Luz said, yet again, with the speed of a thousand cheetahs. 

"What do you mean Luz? I wasn't listening, I was going to yell to you two to keep it down! I didn't hear that he has a crush on me! Nope! Never! Not in a million ye- I should stop talking now." You said, quickly, but not so quick she couldn't make out what you were saying. Her eyes went wide. An excited smile crossed her face.

"You do have a crush on him! Don't even try denying it! Oh, I am so going to help you plan the wedding! You two will make such a cute couple!" Luz said so happily it almost made you smile. Then you remembered, this is a guy who almost killed her, Eda, King, and Amity. 

"Luz, I have no feelings for him! Besides, even if I did he's on the opposing side! What would Eda, King, or Amity think? Belos would be out for my head for "distracting" him! What makes you think that him having a crush on me isn't an act to get information?" You said making sharp gestures at each point you made.

"Eda would be fine with it, she was like you when she was young, she's told me! King, well, he'll get over it eventually. Lots of cookies and sweets for King when you start dating him. Amity, once she knows he's not a threat, would be okayish with him. We have evaded Belos for a few months now, I think we are fine. Also, you can tell by the way he ran rather than acting cocky and brave when you saw him." Luz stated, disproving all your points. You looked almost hopeful, then you looked confused and then faded in to a look of sadness.

"He just ran from me! It's not like he's going to want to talk to me ever again." You sighed, "Luz, just accept it isn't going to happen." And with that, you walked to your room and fell asleep, completely forgetting about the sleepover you were supposed to have, and the very problem solving Latina you left alone. 

3rd person POV

"Hunter! I have something tell you! It's about Y/n!" Luz shouts as she goes in to the forest, assuming he had to stay to spy. Suddenly, a figure with a cape, golden mask, and concerned body language jumped from the tree. He took off his mask and he had a look of regret.

"Please tell me you told her you made me say that because you "ship" us or whatever." Hunter said, with a pleading tone. Luz shook her head with a grave expression. Hunter's horror stricken face will remain in her memory forever. 

Her face gradually transformed into a beaming smile, "I have better news! She likes you back! She told me when we were talking after you left!" She practically screamed at him. His shocked face will also remain in her memory. 

"What? You're kidding." Hunter said in disbelief. He couldn't believe someone so lively, someone so kind, could love someone as depressed and annoying as him.

"Nope! Now, how are you going to ask her out?" Luz asked eagerly. There was a pause for about 15 seconds. "You don't know do you?" Luz asked. Hunter just shook his head. "Well then, asking someone out 101 class starts now! I'll teach you about her and just generally good practices." Luz said with a calm informative voice. You were peacefully asleep inside the owl house, Hooty couldn't wait to put you two in the tunnel of love.
